PostPosted: 10/23/21 9:39 am    ::: NCAA 2021-2022 Fantasy League Draft Thread! Reply Reply with quote

Good Morning Fantasy Drafters! I have elected to set up a new thread for drafting expressly this morning, as it will help me to keep organized if I can organize the picks on the first few posts as a reference point for all.

The rules shall be as follows:

1. Each player shall have 24 hours to make their pick. If 24 hours elapses, the pick shall move on to the next player. You do not need to wait for me to confirm that the time has elapsed. Once that player returns, they are allowed to make whichever picks they have missed. If they miss a second pick, I will consult with the Oracle at Delphi to make two picks for them to try and keep it fair.

2. The draft order shall be a snake draft.

3. I would like to keep this board primarily as a draft board.

4. The draft order shall be as follows:

1 Pureformofthegame
2 HoopSmom
3 Undersized_post
4 tbinta
5 Hoopmom
6 myrtle
7 Coyotes
8 Cooper2009
9 ucbart
10 AdamJ95

I'm picking after Myrtle. What has this world come to!?!?!?!?

In any case, Pureform is on the clock!

Happy Drafting!

We're off to the races! A fantastic first two picks, Undersized Post is on the clock, and I'm headed off to coffee. I'll be around here and there, so if anything comes up, I should be able to assist. It's too bad that Alysha Clark isn't still playing otherwise they'd fit right in on Undersized Post's team.

I actually prefer to pick toward the end or the other of a snake draft as you can strategize players to work together.

I considered taking the player whom some are alleging is the "obvious" choice for me based on my rooting preferences... but 1) I'm not trying to lose the turnover category every week (R.I.P.), and 2) I don't think it's a good idea to put allllll of my eggs in one basket since Iowa's team actually success tends to be a bit better when said player puts up a more balanced stat line.

Therefore, with the third pick of the draft, I select... *drumroll*

Kierstan Bell, FGCU, G, 6'1'', Jr.

yep. she is a really good pick IMO. Bell has 4 really strong categories so you're off to a good start. but the reason I thought she would be mine is because I think there are still a few I ranked overall above her...so hoping one of them is still there and I'll be a happy camper.

Yes.

I have consulted with the Oracle, and I have a feeling that I already know who you will take, but then again, it really all depends on the next few picks!

I bet I will surprise you! And it probably won't be someone you would take anyway.
The funny thing is, that unlike some years in the past, I think there isn't so much a clearcut order of preference. I thought Clark and Bueckers were probably top two, but even that comes with questions because of Clark's TOs and because Bueckers' schedule is actually more iffy than I would have thought. After that it seems like there are a bunch of players good in one area or another, but almost all of them also have blemishes. So for me, what I do after pick #1 is still very much up in the air depending on which blemishes I'm willing to accept or which ones I will try to counter with later picks.

Anyway, I'm hoping we can at least get thru one round today.

Yeah. I think with Bueckers, the schedule is a challenge; moreover, I'm curious how the arrival of Fudd impacts her statistical brilliance. Only time will tell!

It's hard for me to plan my pick out this far in advance, I guess I'll just have to wait and see who you go with.

If Hoopmom doesn't show up by noon tomorrow, maybe we could get GEF to make a pick or two for her?

I'm assuming possibly she hasn't checked back in for 4 days so doesn't know we were starting this weekend.
