If Phoenix beat Connecticut next week. Does that sway anyone's vote?

I feel like that LV/SEA game that Stewart sat out last year pretty much handed the MVP to Aja.

What if PHX wins out against the top 3 teams in the league?

I think JJ has it to lose but I'll be very curious to see the voting.

I voted for Diggins-Smith because I’m guard biased.

Stewart barely back on the historical standards list.

Fair point. I suppose it depends which one shows out more in the next few games. I'd say Griner's pre-olympic performance tilts the internal Phoenix battle in her favor but I understand the fan fare for Diggins-Smith's post olympics streak.

As I said, the vote tallies will be fascinating.

Tonight's game could be pivotal for anyone who may be on the fence between Griner and Jones.

Jonquel will win it because she's on the best team but MVP is BG. Call me biased, I don't care.

25,12, 4 and 3 against the best defense in the WNBA.

And get Skylar's name off these lists. Stop playing in BG's face! She's been the best Mercury player all season.

The Mystics are bad and she's missed too many games

Now that the Sun have clinched best record can Jonquel Jones miss a game or two and still be up for MVP consideration ? She missed 5 earlier in Europe.

Mike Thibault's worst-ever winning percentage, with any squad, in the 18 previous years he's been a WNBA head coach, is .382. In a 32-game season, that would equate to 12 wins. So how much worse would the Mystics have been without Charles? Can you be an MVP when your team would probably have been similarly sucky if you hadn't been there?

I mean, "the team hasn't been good enough" is the short version. But that's part of the longer one.

If there was a Most Outstanding Player award as well she'd be in with a shot for that.

I figured it was that, but since Betnijah Laney was on the list and the Liberty are also bad, I was confused for a moment.

It is ridiculous. That’s because pilight couldn’t accept my good system as it was (and give credits) and felt a need to add to it to make it worse.

Your system that says Jonquel Jones isn't a contender for the award?

Anyway, it’s squarely down to Griner & JJones imo. I can still see the award going to Griner now that Phoenix is poised to be a contender no matter where in the standings they finish. Either player is absolutely deserving at this point, for me.

Systems in glass houses probably shouldn't throw stones. Especially not at brick houses.

Every previous MVP has met five criteria:

At least 43.4 FG%
At least 15.5 ppg
No more than three games missed
Play for a .500 or better team
Leads her team in scoring

To be included in the weekly poll a player must meet four of those five.

pilight has now explained his. It's Shades' turn. Razz
Or he could continue to cravenly avoid responding to being called out, as per usual.
