As a newer poster, I'm curious to see how the fanbases are represented on the board. I'll assume NY has the most users based on their thread count.

I don't know if I've ever seen a Fever fan post.

Who was a fan of a defunct team.

I'll start. I grew up in Orlando and watched Miracle games during their brief stint but was 13 at the time and had just a passing interest in the league. I got reintroduced to the league with the 3 to see and have been a Phoenix fan with a Liberty rising since.

I can't vote. DC Mystics are my #1 team.

I usually also cheer for LA Sparks (I'm an Los Angeles native) but the team is pure trash since Fisher arrived so I want that team to get blown up with someone else picking the players. In other words, fire Fisher GM. And also fire Fisher, Coach. But might need new owners who actually GAF about the team.

Have Luuuc edit the poll choice in. Otherwise if he’s not able to do that, have him delete this topic and start over.

There is, but it's higher than 12. Most likely you forgot to click Add Option after typing the last entry. It's easy to overlook.

Yep, a common trap.
Edited now.

Sorry. I was quoting Serial Mom. It's a phrase I use whenever I'm lost or confused. I am a male. Good catch.

Liberty fan since day one, but I will fight you if you talk shit about the Miami Sol. (yes those were an awkward three years) Back before the plague, I used to go up to Connecticut often enough to develop a fondness for that team as well.

I guess my answer would be 'other.'
I'm still trying to decide. Guess you could call me fickle. I tend to root for individual players - and they're not always, or even often, the best players on their team. I tend to like teams that have the most players I like. Some games I care about who wins for various reasons. Sometimes it's just rooting for the underdogs. But then some underdogs are such a hot mess that it is really difficult to root for them.

I was a Sacramento Monarchs season ticket holder for two years while living in SF. Broke my heart when they folded.

Moved fandom to Minnesota as I was thrilled when they got Brunson! Still love the Lynx, with Seattle my other fave now.

But oh, those Monarchs. And I still hate LA as a result of that rivalry.

I am all in on the Dream. Founding Fan. One of those weirdos who put down a ticket deposit to get a team to Atlanta.

Can't answer. After 20 years of watching various games fairly regularly, I have never been able to develop a sustained rooting interest in any team.

A little surprised Seattle is in the lead over NY.

Indiana is the only team without a single vote.

Liberty fans could be too busy posting on Liberty threads to notice anything else. Razz

As of this morning, the two guys I go to games with had not voted. I suspect they still haven't. The Liberty are essentially on hiatus, so fans tend to drift away when they have to wait nine days for the next game. People may not be visiting this board.

That said, I've also noted that NY fans tend to be verbose and we go off on tangents. Laughing When a thread is active, that draws the attention of other fans, which in turn generates more posts. The process then feeds on itself and produces even more pages.

Before I moved to Atlanta, I really didn't have a team. I could root for whomever and be fine. Sometimes I'd root for specific players in specific games. Or I'd root for underdogs in the playoffs. Now, since I live in the Atlanta area, I have to Run With the Dream!
