So only two games so far have attendance numbers reported---just Louisville and OL Reign--none of the other games have an attendance number---ERRRRRRRRGGG!! It can't be that hard to report. NWSL falls down again.

Just missing the Portland game vs Chicago from the 16th. Amazingly, Portland games have always been good at reporting attendance as they have always been the highest in the league---can't find squat on this game though. Sad

Don't think 3,750 is the official number for Gotham's opener.

Quote:
Due to COVID restrictions, Red Bull Arena capacity was capped at 15%. That broke down to a little more than 1,600 people in the lower bowl — which sold out several days before kickoff — and about 3,750 total.

And FYI, the Thorns aren't reporting attendance figures until their capacity restrictions are lifted.

From May 26
Orlando hosting Portland -- 3,407
Kansas City hosting Chicago -- 5,272
Houston hosting Washington -- 2,241

I take the Houston number with a big grain of salt as the match was supposed to be in Washington, but was moved because of Washington stadium construction delays. The move wasn't announced until about Saturday so not so bad for folks to get to a mid-week game on super short notice.

Still no attendance figures for 3 games:
NJ/NY-Houston May 15
Portland-Chicago May 16
Portland-OL Reign May 23

League is failing all over the place with attendance. Are they trying to hide numbers?

Chicago v North Carolina numbers kept hidden.
With Gotham and Portland at home, I expect those games to be #s 7 and 8 hidden.

I don't get teams not reporting numbers. It's dumbfounding. There's still so many things the NWSL does that makes it look like an amateur league.

Up to 11 matches unreported now. At least 25 have.

I was at the Houston-Orlando match. They only sell the lower bowl for Dash games and it looked almost totally full. Why they don't release the number is beyond me. That's 2 in a row hidden by the Dash front office.

Of the 25 games reported, the league is averaging 3,982 a game. Of course Portland hasn't reported squat, so the number is much lower than it really is.

Racing Louisville is leading the league in reported average attendance at 6,235 a game and total attendance with 4 games reported at 24,938 fans. Washington and Kansas City are 2 and 3 while the bottom 3 are Houston (2,638), OL Reign (2,542) and of course Portland with a fat goose egg.

Cleared one---Orlando team site had the June 20 match vs NJ/NY at 4,454--10 still to hunt down.

Found June 23 Kansas City hosting Orlando--4,197--9 matches to hunt down.

Two out of three so far tonight---not horrid, but I'd like to see em all reported...NJ/NY Gotham FC only one not reporting.

Houston had its largest reported attendance beating OL Reign 2-0 with 4,337 and Washington came in at 3,201 in a loss to Chicago on an own goal 0-1.

-----ESPN comes through!!!! They had the attendance number, even though the league page doesn't. NJ/NY welcomed in 2,307 for a 1-1 draw with Kansas City. Not a horrid number for the rain storms they had. Just like in Houston, plenty stayed away because of the weather.

NWSL is approaching 4 Million total fans in it's 8th season. The league would be over 4 million of the 8 unreported matches were known---half of which are Portland home games.

Total reported fans through all 3 July 2, 2021 matches: 3,927,142
Total Reported matches: 753
League History Attendance Average: 5,215

What's Portland's capacity situation? Whatever it is, I'm sure they're selling out.

They haven't been at full capacity all season. Their next game they will be. Pathetic that they have yet to release ANY attendance numbers...really is minor league of them.

Still holding at 7 matches not reported. ESPN is doing SO MUCH BETTER than the league site. League site is just horrid about listing attendance. ESPN had Aug 14 games attendance up less than an hour after the match. Last I checked, about 4 hours ago, the league was still missing the Kansas City attendance. I'm keeping the attendance section of the 2021 NWSL season Wikipedia up to date, but those 7 games suck not having---Four of which are from the morons in Portland not reporting anything. Guess they don't want their average to suffer so they bask in the glow of fantasy land.

New Jersey, Houston and Chicago have the other 3 blank games. Just sad how they fail at something so basic.

Houston doesn't release September 1 vs OL Reign attendance. That's 2 matches they have failed on. Who do they think they are, Portland?
