yeah, I'm paranoid that Tara is going to try to make Haley the PG next year.

Maybe she'll be the second coming of CP3--idk if you're aware, but Parker can play all 5 positions on the floor Laughing Wink

Lexie Hull has no business trying to go behind the back with 3 second left on the shot clock lmao.

McDonald has no business flopping when Brink set a screen on her when those AZ screens for her have been questionable all game.

Awful last possession for Stanford.

I've never seen Kiana Williams make so many consecutive bad passes. Jones was open on the block but they waited way too long to be able to get her the ball.

Great tourney effort by AZ, which, ironically, shows the mediocre skill level in the sport.

Stanford accomplished what most expected from them all season. Good for them.

McDonald seemed to be able to drive by people at will. She may have wanted to take a 3 on that last play but I think she should have just tried to blow by the defender.

Happy for Tara. I bet she needs a drink after that one. Hard to get excited when you play so poorly

I hope we never again try to get the ball to Brink at the half court line when the game is on the line.

Stanford wins despite playing poorly more often than well in this game. They did everything they could to lose but Arizona just didn't have enough offense to make them pay for it. Kiana had a pretty bad game today, but that doesn't change the fact that she led this team all season.

Pretty cool that Alyssa Jerome got so many minutes today in her final game as a senior.

Congrats to Arizona for coming this far. I thought Aari's shot was going in at the end.

Yup. I felt that vibe coming through in Kiana's interview with Holly. Happy your won but embarrassed at your individual performance.

It looked like Brink came out to the 3-pt line to give Williams a screen so she could take the shot, and instead, Williams passed it to Brink... with 3 seconds left on the clock 😮 What was Brink supposed to do? Take a turn around fade away 3? 😛

Tara said it all. They didn’t play a great game, but they still fought hard and pulled it off. See you at the parade Stanford! (If they allow it!) 😎

Well, at least the score was close.

Congrats to Stanford for ending the long drought.

Congrats to Arizona for being there.

Congrats to Stanford. I've never come away from a game feeling like the team that won lost, until just now.

That would be a major mistake. Jones is not much better than klutzy as a ball handler in space, imo.

On that note, Stanford has a REAL PG issue next year with Kiana and Anna graduating and no obvious choice that is anywhere close in caliber.

Kudos to Stanford....AND Arizona. Couldn't have been any closer, right?

Now. Tara?? You were radically outcoached. Shocked Laughing Adia is all that -- she's good, but she didn't have a fraction of your talent, and still almost took it all from ya!

I saw so many basic/fundamental things that puzzled me:

1. Who on God's Green Earth taught your Bigs to NOT use the freekin' backboard on bunnies?? And when might they discover the idea that adding a VERTICAL JUMP to their shots under the hoop might enhance their fg%? Brink has a bright upside, but you really wanna get more out of that talent.

2. When pressed, why do your polite girls WAIT till the press is set up, AND then pass backward instead of pressing forward?

3. If you're gonna utilize your Big talent the way you did today, please train them to actually handle the ball. Otherwise, keep your smaller, nimble gals on that task.

4. Arizona could/DID make some terrific offenses throughout the tourney look clumsy, but Stanford (of all the teams they played) should have been the most prepared for it. Why not??

And so it ends. VERY thankful we got treated to a pretty amazing tourney after all the season threw at us.

Based on this game, we truly didn't deserve to win.
But based on the body of work...maybe.

I know the winners shouldn't complain about the calls, but I have to say Aari got the benefit of a LOT of calls in this one. Arizona with 18 FTs, Stanford with 2. In particular I thought Lexi Hull got fouled multiple times driving to the basket.

Congrats to Stanford, even after the loss to Colorado I always thought they were the best team this year! Congrats Tara, I'm glad she finally got the third so she's no longer behind Mulkey Confused
