Miss is clogging the paint and Ark can't hit a 3 and find themselves down after 1 17-7.
Arkansas away is a much different offensive team from Ark home.

^This^ I now see why Austin transferred away from Maryland. It's clear from this game that Austin thrives in a slow-tempo game where she can methodically work away at the defense. Brenda Freese wants Maryland to get up and run and Austin probably wanted a different style offense?
Arkansas has a long history of struggling against teams with a solid inside presence.

This was a good game! Austin said she "wanted to go where she could make a difference" IIRC. Boy did she! But Arkansas never gave up either. I liked the fight in both teams, and congrats to both coaches for what they've done since they got there.

Shakira was awesome yesterday and has been playing some really good basketball this season.
FWIW, for approximately the first year and a half that Shakira was at Maryland, many of us Terps fans thought she was the most overrated recruit Brenda had ever brought onboard. She couldn’t make a layup, or shoot a free throw and every time she handled the ball, the odds of her committing a turnover were far greater than the odds of her scoring or even making any smart basketball play. She was good at shot blocking and pretty decent at rebounding, but the rest of her game was a disaster. I can’t tell you how many conversations I had with fans wondering why Brenda insisted on giving her so much playing time!
But Brenda stuck with her, and part way through last season, the improvement in Shakira’s game was striking! She blossomed as a player, and those of us who had doubted Shakira (not to mention Brenda’s judgment) had to admit to ourselves and each other that we were completely wrong!
When Shakira decided to follow MD Asst Coach Shay Robinson to Mississippi, we were really disappointed to see her go. For the record, Brenda and her staff (Robinson included) had a great deal to do with starting Shakira on the upward trajectory you’re seeing now.
