both of these teams are deficient, sizewise, in the post. USC more deficient than UCLA and that appears to be the main difference ITM. In general UCLA can be stellar when their three shooters are hitting shots, but they really need those threes to be falling to make up for the post position. Miller's not terrible, but is definitely a weak link on this team. Bessoir helps but she's pretty young so makes young mistakes. USC only has Pili, who needs to play all their positions at once, which makes it a bit empty in the middle.

Onyenwere showing her doubters that she can indeed make threes. Currently 5 for 5 in this game.

Mark Trakh has two years left on his contract but on the basis of this debacle, I don't think he'll last, his decision or the school's. I've seldom seen a team and their coach simply give up the way they did. Almost as if Trakh knows what's going to happen.

And USC nearly got the Wynns, so they were really screwed no matter where they turned. A new AD could make the next search interesting. They've shown this year that they will spend unlimited amounts on football coaches, but it remains a question as to what they're willing to spend on a loss leader like women's basketball. It could be interesting. USC also has a Top 7 class entering.
The amount of talent that the USC women have and their results is disheartening. Look at the UCLA men and see what Cronin has done with little, whereas Trakh has done little with a lot.

UCLA's a good program and a legit Top-10 team this year, |
agree. And it's really too bad they weren't able to bring in all their foreign players to give them some depth if nothing else.
