If they can get the parenthesis to show up, draft well or make one more decent free agent signing they will still be competitive.

Just as Parker might be incentivized in her new home there is probably a lot of incentive for those still in LA to do well as well.

According to this, not even all of those people you have in parenthesis will be back either.

People close to the matter:
Mindset in LA- Candace and Chelsea helped LA win title in 2016 and have cemented themselves as organizational legends,
but excited to build a fresh culture around Nneka, Sykes, Toliver, Cooper, and Chiney(exclusive rights)

Don't see Riquna Williams' name listed there, for example.

Williams and Augustus are straight up free agents while Chiney's rights are owned by LA and others on the list have signed, that may be why they aren't listed

SWK rights were rescinded by Phoenix. Id like LA to pick her up if Williams won't be back

Her Hoop Stats can report Brittney Sykes re-signed with the Sparks for a 2 year unprotected contract at:
- $110,000 in 2021
- $113,300 in 2022

Well clearly, Fisher wasn’t an idiot when it came to negotiations with Sykes. Best value deal so far in free agency, IMO.

Because she has faith in her own abilities.

Either her agent sucks or that is the best deal she could get. Confused

If she has faith in her own abilities then she knows her worth and that she deserves a guaranteed contract and bigger salary Rolling Eyes

She's also betting that she won't get sick* or injured and cut by the Sparks if it looks like she is in for a long recovery. Seems unwise to me.

She wants to stay in Los Angeles, but the Sparks franchise already has the maximum of guaranteed contracts?

They have two guaranteed contracts, assuming Nneka officially put the pen to the paper, that would make three.

They could’ve easily offered Sykes the protection.

Looks like Derek Fisher remembers that 37 point game.

I mean she is a solid player, but not sure this was the greatest area of need. Of course, that assumes we have Nneka, Chiney, and Vadeeva playing this year, which is not apparent right now. Sigh. Need some more versatile players that can play the 2 and 3 spots. I honestly wouldn't mind having Augustus back. She can be the vet running with the second unit.

Yeah, SWK or maybe even Nia Coffey.

With all the Dallas picks, there has been a lot of whispers about a trade for Griner, but I could just as easily seeing it being for Nneka, which would be remarkable if we lost every single one of our big three!!

I could see that. Nneka goes home to Texas, Chiney goes full time broadcaster, and the Sparks go 12-24.

https://www.latimes.com/sports/story/2021-02-12/sparks-amanda-zahui-b-championship-aspirations

Quote:
Derek Fisher knows firsthand the type of damage Amanda Zahui B. can inflict on opposing teams.

The 6-foot-5 center dropped 37 points on the Sparks in Staples Center on June 15, 2019, during Fisher’s first year as the Sparks’ head coach.

Kinda figured that could have had something to do with it.

Quote:
Fisher emphasized he saw even bigger things in the former No. 2 overall draft pick’s future. She had untapped potential as a stronger force in the paint. She could be more consistent. She could become a better defender.

Fisher could help her get there, he told her, if she signed with the Sparks.

Still can’t figure why she isn’t good enough for the Liberty? I guess I’ll write it off as her not fitting their small ball system. Howard is the new center.

Quote:
The Sparks have a “winning culture,” Zahui B. said. She has championship-winning teammates now

I guess it would be her first upper level team.

Quote:
“It’s kind of wild that I had that game against the Sparks,” Zahui B. said. “Now I just have to do it to New York.”

OH SNAP! Go get ‘em, Zahui! I’ll be all in on you in DFS when the Sparks play the Liberty. Mr. Green

Who is that ace/Nneka like player in 2022 draft.
I want the Lynx to do those shenanigans to get Bueckers.
