Wanted to make this thread to properly mention midseason freshmen additions to schools. These freshmen graduated high school early to do so, and because of covid are able to play immediately while still retaining the normal four years of eligibility after this season is over. Please post any others you see!

I wonder how common the freshmen early enrollees will be going forward, in presumably post-covid times. Apparently this concept is already becoming more commonly sighted on the men's side.

Here are a few ones I know of (thanks to Raoul):

Boston College: Ally VanTimmeren, a 6-3 F out of Michigan. Was ESPNW's #95-ranked HoopGurlz prospect in their 2021 rankings. (Link)

Buffalo: Casey Valenti-Paea, a 5-9 G out of Australia. (Link)

UCLA: Dominique Darius, a 5-9 G out of New Jersey. Was ESPNW's #26-ranked HoopGurlz prospect in their 2021 rankings. (Link)

Washington: Jess Finney, a 6-0 G out of Arizona. Was ESPNW's #94-ranked HoopGurlz prospect in their 2021 rankings. (Link)

Minnesota: Katie Borowicz, a 5-7 G out of Minnesota. Was ESPNW’s #98-ranked HoopGurlz prospect in their 2021 rankings. (Link)

Wake Forest: Elise Williams, a 5-9 G out of North Carolina. (Link)

Iowa State: Izzi Zingaro, a 6-4 P out of Ontario. (Link)

Iowa State is severely lacking in post depth (sometimes playing 5 guards) so she may have a chance to see the floor this season.

Has any of the aforementioned players appeared in a game yet? Would be curious! Any PT and/or contribution will only be that much more experience for them regardless. Very Happy

Timmerman played for BC against NC state (the game took place like 3 days after she met her teammates). She had 10 points in 16 minutes of action against the #3 team in the nation.

Darius for UCLA has, and has looked pretty good.
Finney for Washington has... I wish she looked more like Darius, is all I can say. Embarassed

Suddenly there are several Pac-12 programs that have early enrollees either about to join their team or already have.

Arizona: Madi Conner, a 5-11 G out of Arizona. Was ESPNW's #71-ranked HoopGurlz prospect in their 2021 rankings. (Link)

Cal: Mia Mastrov, a 5-11 G out of California. (Link)

Oregon State: Talia von Oelhoffen, a 5-11 G out of Washington. Was ESPNW's #25-ranked HoopGurlz prospect in their 2021 rankings. (Link)

From the Horizon at Purdue Fort Wayne - Amelia Bromenschenkel is a 5'11" guard from Illinois who graduated high school early. She's played in 5 games for them so far averaging 13 minutes and 2 points per game last year. I saw her when watching their game against UW-Green Bay yesterday. The announcers mentioned Illinois wasn't playing high school basketball this year so that played a factor in her decision to graduate early and move onto college now.

Notre Dame: Just announced that Olivia Miles will be joining the ND team a bit early. She can start practicing with the team on Jan 25th and might be able to play against Syracuse on Jan. 31st. She was ranked #8 on Hoopgurlz (#2 PG).

One thing ND is missing this year is a full time PG. Dara Mabrey often runs the point, but she's more of a SG. Alicia Hayes is a PG, but isn't quite ready for a starting role.

I gotta say, this is rather exciting. In a year or extreme crazniess, let's add this to the mix.

Borowicz has scored 10 points in 21 minutes across two games for Minnesota so far.

Kendall Coley, 6’2 W, has enrolled early at Nebraska. Might be available today when the Huskers host her hometown Gophers. Kendall’s older sis, Chase, attended Iowa.

Edit: won’t be available today pending medical review

Mia Mastrov played her first game for Cal tonight. Coming off the bench early she played 35 minutes and scored 20 points with 6 boards and 2 steals. She shot 4-12 from 3, 7-19 overall, but that was due to her forcing 6 3's in the final 3:06 where she looked gassed.

An interesting situation, if a midyear enrollee is selected as an All American, could they still play in the game? One that might be a shoe-in is Olivia Miles..although most of the games will be during the NCAA tourney. Hopefully they can still be acknowledged somehow

So great to see Mia play so well ... congrats to her.
