Vanderbilt vs Tennessee Tech

Seton Hall vs Rider, Saint Peters and Fairfield

Kennesaw State four games

“Bellarmine's first six games had been comprised of home outings against Western Illinois (Nov. 29) and Ball State (Dec. 13) and road outings against Eastern Kentucky (Nov. 25), Western Kentucky (Dec. 2), Louisville (Dec. 6) and Ohio State (Dec. 10).”

I just found that Raoul has been posting these on Twitter as well.

Most of the B1G teams don’t have schedules yet. I assume it’s because of finding opponents to fit the stringent conference protocols.

Purdue non-conference schedule, all at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette:

Nov. 29th - North Alabama
Dec. 3rd - Miami (OH)
Dec. 6th - Valpo
Dec. 9th - Buffalo
Dec. 13th - Bowling Green

The BG game was scheduled to be the home opener on Nov. 25th but got pushed back to the 13th of December a few days ago.

FAMU has opted out of the whole season, per that link. It will be interesting to see how many teams do this independently from their conferences. Bethune-Cookman (conf champs last season) cancelled its basketball season several weeks ago, but the rest of the MEAC appears to be going ahead.

So, with Bellarmine, Middle Tennessee and UConn, Louisville is already down three games without any issues of their own.

Michigan announced their B1G schedule today and only (so far?) two non-conference games - both this week. Hosting Central Michigan on Wednesday and going to Oakland on Friday. Due to current state limitations, no spectators are allowed. This includes family.

I’m amazed that there are still schools that are allowing 3,000 fans in attendance!

From an Albany press release, “ The women's season opener, originally scheduled for Sunday, November 29 against Central Connecticut State in SEFCU Arena, has been postponed. Additionally, the games against Siena on December 2 and at Marist on December 5 have been postponed. No makeup dates have been set.

Following a surge in cases within the university community, UAlbany enacted a full-campus pause on November 10 in line with SUNY protocols. As a result of the pause, the women have not been permitted to practice, last doing so on November 9.”

Also Cal State Northridge and Maryland-Eastern Shore, per Swish Appeal.

Besides the UConn team being on "pause" for 14 days due to a "member of the program's" positive test, the State of CT is also requiring a 14-day quarantine for travelers from any state except NY/NJ/RI. UConn cancelled its first 4 games (Quinnipiac, Miss St., Maine, and Louisville) and postponed its 5th game (Seton Hall).

Given...
--the skyrocketing number of cases nationwide, primarily due to community spread
--refusal of large segments of the public to wear masks or limit social gatherings
--the number of individuals involved in a program and the number of people they contact outside the program, particularly during travel
--organizational mandates and symptom-driven requirements for frequent testing
--increasing test positivity rates in many areas
--and interstate travel restrictions...

I don't see how this season is going to happen, unless everyone involved starts quarantine now and is teleported into a giant bubble in Peoria for the duration.

It doesn't matter if people wear masks or not...most people aren't wearing them correctly.

I'm guessing Marquette is going to lose out on a lot of home games. I think more and more states are going to require quarantines upon return after visiting Wisconsin with how bad the Covid numbers are here Sad.

I also don't see how the season is going to happen either - we will see...

With the financial strains on universities in general, they have to try to generate the income from TV and, to a lesser extent, attendance. Of course this is driven by men's basketball, but I really can't blame the schools for giving it the old college try, so to speak.

Hopefully, no one dies or is seriously impacted by the attempt (though we can never know), but it sure doesn't look like it's going to work out.

Most of the New England states have in place some sort of travel restrictions involving a quarantine period. One large outbreak and several smaller clusters have been traced to hockey arenas and travel teams already. It's going to make it difficult for out-of-state teams to compete in games here.

North Dakota had a positive test and is canceling their game at Chicago State tomorrow. Their Sunday home game versus Marquette is up in the air for now:
