Tonight, FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!

So what happens next?

Trump and Biden were never within six feet. So if Trump gave it to Biden it would have to be through what they refer to as an "airborne transmission" where small micro particles don't fall to the ground within six feet, but hover in the air and can get blown around by air conditioning. But the authorities have been reluctant to declare that a serious issue although there are two well known incidents of apparent "more than six feet transmission" which caused 240 experts to write an open letter to the CDC asking them to warn about airborne transmission.

a) Trump is quarantined for 14 days and remaining debates occur at later dates
b) Trump is hospitalized and can't return in time for debates but alive at election
c) Trump dies before the election and ??????? My guess is that voting for Trump on the ballot becomes a vote for Pence

I was thinking of the Secret Service.

At least 11 people tested positive at a Secret Service center that serves as a staffing pipeline to the presidential protective force.

I'm not wishing a bad outcome on anyone, but I think a Harris - Pence race would be better for the country in the long run.

I hope Pence is in isolation somewhere. It seems entirely possible (?probable) that Trump may become ill enough to require hospitalization and be unable to fulfill his duties as president. If Pence is sick at the same time, this could be a huge destabilizing situation in Washington.

And WTH was Hicks running around hugging people and is the Secret Service run by morons?

To summarize what we know this Friday morning:

On the Republicans' side: President Trump is apparently experiencing mild symptoms, including fatigue and vocal hoarseness. VP Pence and Second Lady Pence have tested negative today, along with all of the Trump kids and Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett thus far. GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel has tested positive; she was in close contact with the President last Friday, but apparently might've gotten the virus from a family member.

On the Democrats' side: Senator Harris tested negative as recently as yesterday (being tested not as a result of the infections of Hope Hicks/the President/First Lady). Both former VP Biden and former Second Lady Dr. Biden are still awaiting the results of their tests, taken today.

This could be the excuse Trump needs to drop out of the race

https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/mm6924e2.htm?s_cid=mm6924e2_w#T2_down

If I am reading it right,in a table at the above link, the incomplete statistics accumulated (not all information known) show that Trump as a person in his 70’s with a positive COVID-19 test result has a 16.6% chance of dying. But if you say that he is healthy his chance of dying lowers to 10.2%. However, if you count his obesity as severe (BMI >= 40) it becomes an underlying condition to the CDC and his chance of dying goes to 31.7%. Since Trump is male his chances should be somewhat worse than those both-sex figures. Both-sex chance of being hospitalized is 27.9% if he is considered healthy and 64.7% with an underlying condition(s).

Hugging...yeah... let's call it "adult hugs". 😉

But seriously, they all tested positive within hours of her positive test. No reason to assume she was the one who infected them, rather than the other way around. Not going to get a positive test result a day or so after first exposure.

Both VP Biden's and Dr. Biden's tests came back negative. I imagine they'll continue to get tested more frequently in the coming days in order to gain confidence in their lack of exposure.

GOP Governor Mike Lee of Utah has just tested positive, but was last in close contact with Trump 10 days ago, so it's hard to say who he was infected from. Lee had met with Amy Coney Barrett a few days ago amongst others, but as previously stated, her test today came back negative.

I guess it went from being a hoax virus to being Hope's virus.

And Karma comes full circle. Cool

I DO hope his is not a *mild* case. No, I don't wish death on him, but I certainly hope he gets to feel, first-hand, the misery and concern so many experienced as he glibly decried it as a hoax.

Frankly, I'm puzzled it took this long, given his blatant disregard for the medical advice on proper protocol.

She was already symptomatic on Wed, so had probably been infected several days earlier. She's certainly a good possibility of the source of Trump's infection.

Have seen different numbers, such as 3-5 days and 3-7 days as time that it takes for a positive test result to show up after infection. So Biden and others need to get re-tested in a few more days.

There are anonymous administration officials who are reported as saying they had been expecting something like this for weeks given the way "proper protocols" were not being followed.

He would really be pissed if you tweeted that to him and he saw it. According to the people that put on his Comedy Central roast, there was only one topic which Trump told them was off limits:

Quote:
ALLOWED: Jokes about Trump’s hair
ALLOWED: Jokes about Trump’s wife Melania (and his two previous marriages)
ALLOWED: Jokes about Trump having sex with models
ALLOWED: Jokes about the failure of Trump Steaks, Trump Water, Trump Cologne, and other Trump products
ALLOWED: Jokes about Trump’s failed casinos
ALLOWED: Jokes about how Trump only became successful thanks to his wealthy father
ALLOWED: Jokes about Trump’s weight
ALLOWED: Jokes about Trump being attracted to his daughter Ivanka
NOT ALLOWED: Any joke that suggests Trump is not actually as wealthy as he claims to be

Trump's headed to Walter Reed hospital according to USA Today. He's "fatigued" the headline said.
