Sims should start at SG. Brown & Dangerfield have done a solid job of running PG.

PG: Dangerfield/Brown
SG: Sims/Banham/Johnson
SF: Collier/Carleton
PF: Dantas/Harrigan/McCall
C: Fowles/Alexander

That’s a fricking bargain. I wonder if they’re taking advantage of her lack of English skills?

“Dis is da max, as you say?”
“Yes Damiris, trust me.”

I know, I know, her agent is probably looking out for her. But holy crap... she’s only making about $21K more than this season when she could have gotten a lot more on the open market.

Does Megdal still have that salary data base? It’s about the only useful thing about him. The one I have bookmarked never gets updated.

Dantas was the only important contract that needed to be secured for next season, unless Maya comes back. Carleton needs a contract. She’ll be cheap. Alexander needs a contract. She can move on.

WNBA agents must not be very good, seeing how they allowed for all these top players to sign contracts for years beyond this year so they missed out on making new max money (agents should have an idea there would be major pay raises).

Is Dantas the only player in WNBA history to be better on the Lynx than on another team, or is the Dream not a real, legitimate WNBA team?

Pretty sure Augustus was better on the Lynx than she is for the Sparks. Whalen was far better for the Lynx than she ever was for the Sun. Brunson wasn't even a full time starter in Sacramento, in Minnesota she was the cog for four championships. Candice Wiggins was decent for the Lynx, not so much at her other three stops. The list goes on...

I was. One hundred percent. Call me a cynic if you want, call me a hater, but I peeped game when she said she wasn't going to play, last year.

Tyler Perry's probably been working on adapting this into a screenplay, all morning.

My second thought was she won't be back to WNBA. Happy for her, sad for us that we'll likely not see her play again. I would SURE like to be wrong...

Very happy for them. I don't see why marrying him would prevent her from returning. I hope she does but understand if she doesn't. She has very little incentive to return if she's making better money elsewhere.

I feel like "Why would marrying him prevent her from returning?" is the wrong question to ask. The only times I've ever heard Maya Moore talking about anything not directly related either to the Xs and Os of basketball, or her now-husband's case, have been when she is talking about her faith. And, frankly (IMO), she talks about faith in a way that leads me to believe that her notion of faith would require her to be a stay-at-home wife and mother. So, to me, the real question is, is Mister Irons the sort of man who would ask his wife to stay at home? Because I totally believe that she would, if he did. I guess we'll see.

I hate to say it but I agree, ever since this came up. I still wish her well, but that totally rubbed me the wrong way. Confused

He's spent his entire adult life in prison. There's no telling what he's like as far as interpretation of family roles.

In Maya's interview with Good Morning America, she was asked directly if she was coming back. She didn't give a definite yes or definite no. She was non committal. But she did mention next spring would be decision making time. A lot of things could happen between now and then. Especially since they both seem to want children.

Maya Moore and Jonathan Irons are married ... Does that diminish her sacrifice?

https://www.espn.com/wnba/story/_/id/29900158/maya-moore-jonathan-irons-married-does-diminish-sacrifice

Pretty good article that poses a very important question. Why do we care?
