Saw the injury report for Phoenix last night on Twitter. Any chance we can sign Sandy and Catchings to 7 day contracts? Maybe Pierson?

maybe Penny Taylor? Is she and Leo in the wubble? Are both Vaughn and Smith out? yikes. I guess Cunningham plays the 4? Or maybe the Merc just give the Sun a bye.

So Connecticut are down 22 after 14 minutes, in a game that's pretty meaningless for them. What's the over/under on combined Bonner/AThomas minutes? 65?

Meaningless? Home court is at stake for them. 70!

(Serious answer though, I'm pretty sure the Sun players aren't out there just to go through the motions, and until we've still got a 20 point lead in the 4th I feel like we could crumple into an exhausted heap at any moment in the 2nd half)

'Home court' advantage has quietly regressed wayyyy back towards the mean, by the way. But that makes a way less fun article so no one's talked about it much.

Aww, that's no fun.

Sun certainly not getting too many home town calls tonight.

A blowout is also pretty deflating following the biggest win of the year for them. Hard to say this is meaningless when they were playing extremely well at the right time.

I'd be interested to see a comparison of Taurasi's 3P% in 1st halves vs 2nd halves this season. My perception is that there'd be a decent sized discrepancy.

It was always going to happen, but I was hoping for not that early and not that steep.
33-10 that quarter Embarassed

This is definitely the case of the leagues most energized and fresh team vs the leagues most depleted team. We need this one for any momentum going into the playoffs. You can tell the team is running on fumes at this point.

Connecticut are missing their entire starting backcourt, of course.

And are STILL going 10 deep.

PHX is 7 deep with a mid year 7 day contract player getting significant minutes.

Side note* this isn't a criticism or an excuse. More so, Connecticut is probably top 3 right now in terms of what they can produce.

Turner's 18 boards is a new career high for her. Hoping there are more to come in the last 2:19

These Notre Dame women are keeping the Mercury in the thick of things.

Interesting decision to go for the quick 2

How tf do you miss that as an official? Like how do you think "I'm going to just call out of bounds"
