This will be interesting!!!!! I know people who are still pissed at ND for allowing the "I Can't Breathe" t-shirts almost 6 years ago.
Quote:
The new rule will permit one patch on the front of a player's uniform and one on the back. On the front, the patch must not exceed 2¼ inches and may be used as a "commemorative/memorial patch (names, mascots, nicknames, logos and marks) intended to celebrate or memorialize people, events or other causes."

Players can also replace their last names on the backs of their jerseys to honor a cause they support.

Some lawyers will get rich when somebody wants to commemorate something the NCAA doesn't approve of

Jerseys without names will make marginal announcers even worse.

Makes me wonder if some schools will opt out of names altogether.

And what will happen at UConn and other schools that don't have names to start with? Will they have to allow something where a name would have been? Will some players try to slip something cute (or not so cute) past their schools like people try with their personalized plates?

Pilight's right. A bunch of lawyers are going to get rich.

Makes me wonder if the NCAA really thought this through or if they're counting on this year's contests all being canceled, and then hope and pray that this blows over so that they can pull back the reins next year.

I know that the finacial situations at Universities is getting tight, but putting patches on uniforms instead of just getting new ones is pretty cheap.

Even if a team got brand new uniforms it would still be a patch put on by the equipment manager.

Sounds like the front patch would be a team-wide application so doubt there’d be lawsuits.

You think the NCAA will allow Liberty to put MAGA on their jerseys?
