I remember the days when one team from the ACC could make the NCAA's. The B1G, the SEC and the ACC combined had maybe 10 of the top 15 teams in the country and yet only 3 teams would get in the tournament while while some cowboy school out west that won a mickey mouse conference title would face UCLA for a slot in the FF.
In those days the NIT was a much deeper and more watchable tournament.
