DOUBTS OVER OXFORD COVID-19 VACCINE AFTER ANIMALS TESTED CATCH VIRUS

Quote:
Although all of the monkeys were found to have been infected with the virus, none suffered from pneumonia, which suggests the vaccine could help fight the severity of COVID-19, which may give optimism to some.

Coronavirus: European stocks fall as doubts grow over vaccine

Quote:
A report from the highly respected Stat News suggested that Massachusetts-based Moderna (MRNA) had not released enough information about its vaccine candidate to justify the optimism that had buoyed markets in recent days.

With coronavirus antibodies fading fast, vaccine hopes fade, too

Disturbing new revelations that permanent immunity to the coronavirus may not be possible have jeopardized vaccine development and reinforced a decision by scientists at UCSF and affiliated laboratories to focus exclusively on treatments.

Wow. That is a tough article. And the information runs very counter to everything we’ve been hearing these last few weeks.

I posted in some other thread that 3 pharma companies have had successful Phase 1 trials (small group of patients, designed to find optimum dose to produce antibodies without dire side effects) and plan to start Phase 3 trials later this month (thousands of patients to assess Ab production and longevity). Moderna is so confident their vax will work that they're already ramping up production of doses to distribute to the public.

So...like everything else with this novel disease, there are a lot of contradictions.

And "herd immunity" for COVID is D.O.A. People have tested positive, then negative, then positive again. Either the antibodies they developed from initial infection failed to prevent reinfection or the virus was dormant inside was active, then dormant, then active again. And FYI, it has happened enough times, with multiple negative test and no symptoms until the next positive test that it is now confirmed in multiple cases in multiple countries.

It could be a problem with the test

I believe I was a false negative for COVID so that was my first thought. But it's happened so many times now that chances of so many test errors is shrinking. But you're right, I should list it as a possibility. Less likely than the two that I mentioned, but still possible.

ON HOLD Bill Gates warns multiple coronavirus vaccine doses likely to be needed and schools should stay closed for another YEAR

He said: "None of the vaccines at this point appear like they'll work with a single dose.
