Makur Maker, a five star recruit, picked HBCU Howard over UCLA. I was just wondering if any highly touted female athlete had done the same.

That would be cool. It would take a while to build a elite squad (quicker than football of course), but imagine a Final Four:

Kentucky vs. Texas Southern

Duke vs. South Carolina State

Does Mo'ne Davis going to Hampton count?

It's a little different on the men's basketball side with players who plan on only staying for a year.

No, Mo'ne Davis does not count. She was not recruited by softball powerhouses like Oklahoma, Alabama, etc. She selected Hampton over Bethune-Cookman University, Southern University, Coppin State University and the University of Pennsylvania.

Geez Louise.

The Makur Maker story made news because here is an elite recruit who spurned P5 offers from the likes of UCLA, Kentucky and Memphis and chose an HBCU. What does that have to do with skin color? Though low in numbers, white students do attend HBCU's
