When I said I was impressed, I was being sarcastic. The second paragraph in your statement was the both siderism part. Fox News would've said the same thing about Anifa no matter what their race is just because they are against Anifa and their beliefs and you know that (the strawman). Fox chose to only photograph black people in the crowd as an attempt to dog whistle. Couldn't they have at least shown a couple of white people in the crowd. Maybe the senator should go talk to the protesters. I'm sure they are some reasonable people.

The purpose of mentioning Antifa was to give a situation where Fox News would definitely not look at armed protesters with regard to race, but with regard to their political views. Do they have the same political views of the armed black protesters? If not, then how can we say that Ed Henry and/or producers were unhappy with them only or primarily because of race?

As I said in another post, the armed protesters were unsanctioned members of the New Black Panther Party, so it doesn't appear that Fox News, which was showing armed people, could have shown any armed white ones. A search at images.google.com for "armed protester Atlanta" does not show any armed white protesters (there is a white guy who is with and who has the vest of the armed protesters, but doesn't appear to have a gun).

With two guards sidelined, Blake Dietrick antsy to seize WNBA opportunity
https://www.bostonherald.com/2020/06/30/with-two-guards-sidelined-blake-dietrick-antsy-to-seize-wnba-opportunity/

Quote:
Even when a season wasn’t on the horizon, Dietrick kept up her fitness and lifted weights. Not having a basketball hoop in her driveway – she normally would spend time at Wellesley College shooting – she worked on her ball-handling.

Quote:
“I’m a little bit nervous, but I think the league is doing everything they can to keep us safe and I trust that they’re doing everything possible,” Dietrick said. “We’re going to be tested so many times – before we enter the bubble, while we’re in the bubble. I really do think they’re doing everything possible.”

Quote:
“I just want to play,” said Dietrick, who flew to Atlanta recently for voluntary workouts before teams are expected to report to Florida by July 6. “I’m ready to go and I hope the rest of the team is as well. I think it’s still going to be a great season.”

Why is Kelly Loeffler still a WNBA co-owner despite 'Donald Sterling vibes'?

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/why-is-kelly-loeffler-still-a-wnba-coowner-despite-donald-sterling-vibes-001531679.html

What Loeffler has said publicly is at least as bad, if not worse, than what Donald Sterling said in a recorded conversation with his mistress — and Sterling was forced to sell the Los Angeles Clippers.

Because there were billionaires queueing up to buy an LA-based NBA team, while the number of people who want to buy half an Atlanta-based WNBA team can be counted on the fingers of one stump?

Indeed. If there were anybody with money trying to buy in on the Dream, Loeffler would have been out on her ass, by now.

A pretty all encompassing one-minute highlight reel. I really enjoyed watching her make those passes. 😍 Super excited to watch her ball out this season (assuming the team doesn’t boycott Loeffler by collectively sitting out 😬).

Shocked she's put on a LOT of weight since college.

Brown may turn into the next Kara Braxton or Danielle Adams.

Although her game was not limited to around the basket play,, If she learns to use her size she could dominate inside. However, she always had trouble running the floor so that could turn out to be a real problem for her. Sometimes genetics is just to difficult for some players to overcome.

Gotta add my remote trigger finger has gotten really good at newshour commercial time.

"Keisha from LaGrange runs a flower shop: 'Lately, It's been hard to make ends meet...'" CLICK, before the shouty "KELLY LOEFFLER WILL STOP MS-13 FROM OVERRUNNING OUR BORDERS"-style intrusion kicks in. You only get like 7 seconds tops.

I just hope my clicker fingers can hold up through the first week of November.

It's kind of like the only kid who owns a basketball. Don't play by his rules, he takes his ball and goes home. I think by now it's a fair question to ask whether the WNBA really needs an (arguably failed) franchise in Atlanta so badly that it must tolerate her as an owner.

The irony is isn't the Atlanta Dream named after Martin Luther King Jr's "Dream"? I'm guessing Loeffler would be one of the people who thought MLK was an evil communist who must be stopped at all costs if she were around back in the 1960s.

Pretty noticeable that none of those players speaking out are the ones who might lose their jobs or be dumped in a dispersal draft if she was forced out. Significantly easier to call for it when you're a highly paid star on an entirely different team.

I guess Force 10 could just buy the Dream. Or maybe Sue Bird.

Playing in a bubble probably helps the league avoid embarrassing controversy in this case. Were they playing in Atlanta, it seems almost certain there would be a protest at the arena because of Loeffler's comments. I think lw3 predicted this sort of thing might happen earlier in this thread.

Dream have signed Erica McCall. Courtney Williams isn't in the bubble, so I wonder if 1.) She tested positive and will arrive later or 2.) She's going to opt-out. Does make them very post heavy and possibly forces Glory Johnson to start at SF.

There's also speculation that either or both of Brown and Johnson have tested positive since arriving in the bubble. Both players are there but haven't been at practice.
