Get a star player and hardly lose anyone of value. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Mike T will find a way to find minutes for all of them.

I agree.

I didn’t watch a ton of SWK.

Can any fans give me some analysis on her game?
What I have seen, nice midrange jumper with potential for 3pt shot.
And that’s about it Laughing

What do y’all love about her and why would NY be dumb to cut her over Durr/Johannes, Nurse/Allen, Boyd?

SWK is a glue type player. Good defensively. Good speed. Good athleticism. Good teammate. Can actually make those midrange shots (unlike Boyd or Clarendon for example). Not ooh, ooh, ah, ah anywhere but I think she's a solid player to have as a backup.

I wonder when/if that Championship Parade will happen. And maybe the Mystics could theoretically take visit the White House by the time it's safe to do so, as we could have a new President by then. Laughing

Hard nose, can hit 3's, defends, can play both guard positions. Potentially a starter in the right situation. She improved each year after being drafted. Got bigger minutes behind Powers after Kristi went down. I for one will miss her. I'm thinking Liberty wanted her.

PEACE & LOVE GO MYSTICS!!!!!

Could it be insurance in case Meesseman doesn't come over?

They would have probably gotten an offer for a parade as long they agreed to ride on one of the tanks. Razz

Thanks y’all! I do think glue players are important, and I wondered why she didn’t do ‘better’ than she has to this point. It’s tough I don’t see much playing time for her in NY. But if we keep her, happy to have her! I noticed on Instagram that EDD called her ‘mom’? Anybody have anything on that lol

I wonder if Thibault would have picked Agnew with the #12 pick if he would have kept it.

I’m also curious if he was tempted to go with Pivec at #24. Pivec ended up going #25, to the glee of Collen.

Mystics to have virtual celebration of WNBA title

Quote:
It's not known when the season will begin, so Saturday will feature online festivities.

Those will include messages from Mayor Muriel Bowser, Mystics owner Ted Leonsis and coach Mike Thibault, an appearance by player Natasha Cloud, and the first episode of a documentary about the championship run.

Sucks they chose to postpone their celebration parade into the spring due to so many players having immediate overseas commitments after the Finals - Who would've known back at that time that it would be their only real opportunity to have a parade... Sad The players and the fans deserve to have a normal celebration; I feel for them.

On Feb. 1, 2013 in Oakland, Ca., Lacob, Guber and Richie formally announced that the Mystics were sold and moving to the Bay Area and play home games at the Oracle Arena. They will now be known as the Golden State Grizzlies with a color scheme matching the Warriors

Huh? That was part of Albert Lee's hypothetical.
Also, I don't like the name Grizzlies because there already is a NBA team with that name. Smile

If the WNBA were to have a season, (which I’m not sure will happen) will Delle Donne opt to sit out. She is probably high risk with her Lyme Disease, and I would imagine she wouldn’t want to leave her family if the season took place in one location. I would also imagine her sister would be high risk as well.

Inside source and I've now been told she'll be suspended instead.

Here’s an issue I haven’t seen addressed anywhere. In light of the pandemic, has the league done away with the notion that the players must travel through commercial airlines, which puts the players at a higher risk for infection?

Has there ever been a restriction on how international players come to the USA? For instance, if air travel was an deterring issue for Zandalasini coming in this season, could Glen Taylor fly her over in one of his private jets?

Of course, it’s a lot cheaper and more efficient if the player takes commercial and just uses extra precautions, like wearing a N95 mask and a face shield to protect the eyes.

Count me as surprised. I really thought Emma would stay in Europe this season.

According to Het Nieuwsblad (in Dutch), she will leave on Thursday for the United States. Her expected arrival this week was also confirmed by the Mystics organization.

In addition, Belgian guard Julie Allemand, a rookie for the Indiana Fever will leave tomorrow for the US, according to Het Nieuwsblad’s report.

Cloud & Sanders "opt-out". Still expecting Delle Donne to follow.

https://mystics.wnba.com/news/cloud-sanders-to-opt-out-of-2020-season/

I'd guess and say Shey Peddy gets the first call-up. Maybe Agnew or Sutton get called in as well?

PG: Mitchell/Peddy
SG: Atkins/Leslie
SF: Powers
PF: Meesseman/Hines-Allen
C: Charles/Hawkins
