Trump finalizes rollback of LGBTQ patient protections

Quote:
The Trump administration on Friday formally rolled back an Obama-era policy that protected LGBTQ patients from discrimination and required robust language translation services, unnerving health experts who worry vulnerable populations will face further risks during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Quote:
"These actions demonstrate how little this Administration values the life, health and safety of LGBTQ people," said Sharita Gruberg of the Center for American Progress. "It’s even more of a disgrace to do so on the anniversary of the deadliest attack on the LGBTQ community in US history."

This was announced in the middle of Pride and on the anniversary of the Pulse massacre.

Trump is a monster, and the GOP hates queer people as a matter of their official platform.

Huh?? WHEN was that recorded? I DO hope it's a campaign ad in both SC and the Biden campaigns.

The moderate Republicans that the Democrats are nominating are not that hard for Republicans to like. Biden will nominate different judges, but he won’t attempt to do anything about our job export to China.

That is funny! Her lip syncing is really good, especially on the water one. And I like the nose scratching when he briefly pauses. "And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do. Either through the skin, uh, or in some other way." Laughing

Trump says ex-adviser Bolton breaks law if he publishes book

Quote:
"I will consider every conversation with me as president highly classified. So that would mean that if he wrote a book and if the book gets out he's broken the law," Trump said.

"That's called criminal liability. That's a big thing," he added.

Quote:
Bolton's "The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir," is set to be published on June 23.

The publisher, Simon and Schuster, said in a news release on Friday the book provides an insider account of Trump's "inconsistent, scattershot decision-making process."

The book details Trump's dealings with China, Russia, Ukraine, North Korea, Iran, Britain, France and Germany, the publisher said. "This is the book Donald Trump doesn’t want you to read," Simon and Schuster said.

Since we are on the subject of "his" books and lawsuits pertaining to "his" books, A-hole's niece, Mary Trump has one due the end of July on the internecine dealings within the family. And not surprisingly, punk-in-chief's attorneys are not only suing Bolton but looking into going after Mary too.

Trump asked China's President to help him win 2020 election, Bolton claims in excerpt of new book

Quote:
One notable interaction described by Bolton was a meeting between the two leaders at the G-20 Summit in Osaka last June, where the US President "stunningly" turned the conversation to the upcoming 2020 election.

The former national security adviser said Trump "stressed the importance of farmers and increased Chinese purchases of soybeans and wheat in the electoral outcome," adding that he "would print Trump's exact words, but the government's prepublication review process has decided otherwise."

Bolton said the conversation turned back to the trade deal, and Trump "proposed that for the remaining $350 billion of trade imbalances (by Trump's arithmetic), the US would not impose tariffs, but he again returned to importuning Xi to buy as many American farm products as China could."

Joe Biden will accept Democratic presidential nomination in Milwaukee

Quote:
(CNN)Joe Biden will formally accept the Democratic presidential nomination in Milwaukee in August, two officials familiar with planning say, as the scaled-back party convention with a major digital component enters the final stages of planning two months before it is scheduled to begin.

"He will be in Milwaukee," one official says of Biden, confirming the former vice president's attendance on the final night of the convention, likely August 20.

It has been made clear to major donors and supporters of the campaign in recent days as well that Biden's formal acceptance of the party's nomination -- the highlight of the multi-day affair -- will take place in Milwaukee.

I just read the last page of this thread and stopped at this post because I never heard of this Obama rule and the so-called Trump "roll-back". So, I did a little Google stuff. The Obama rule never went into effect because it was blocked by two federal courts, which ordered HHS not to implement it.

I'm curious to know why Genero or PUmatty think it's "monstrous" or "hateful" to replace a rule that has never been in force because of court orders that it is illegal.

It would also be interesting to consider how all of this will affected by (Trump appointee) Justice Gorsuch's recent majority opinion in the Bostock case, which expanded the meaning of "sex" to include sexual orientation and gender identity for hiring practices under Title VII. Trump called it a "very powerful decision" that "we will live with."

TikTok Teens and K-Pop Stans Say They Sank Trump Rally

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/21/style/tiktok-trump-rally-tulsa.html

Quote:
TikTok users and fans of Korean pop music groups claimed to have registered potentially hundreds of thousands of tickets for Mr. Trump’s campaign rally as a prank. After the Trump campaign’s official account @TeamTrump posted a tweet asking supporters to register for free tickets using their phones on June 11, K-pop fan accounts began sharing the information with followers, encouraging them to register for the rally — and then not show.

Quote:
K-pop stans have been getting increasingly involved in American politics in recent months. After the Trump campaign solicited messages for the president’s birthday on June 8, K-pop stans submitted a stream of prank messages. And earlier in June, when the Dallas Police Department asked citizens to submit videos of suspicious or illegal activity through a dedicated app, K-pop Twitter claimed credit for crashing the app by uploading thousands of “fancam” videos.

They also reclaimed the #WhiteLivesMatter hashtag in May, by spamming it with endless K- pop videos, in hopes to make it harder for white supremacists and sympathizers to find one another and communicate their messaging.

Whether or not the prank to call in false tickets was the reason for the empty upper rafters at Mr. Trump’s rally, teenagers online celebrated. On Twitter, several accounts tweeted, “best senior prank ever.”

So, the Trump rally in Tulsa brought in some 6,200 in attendance inside the 19,000 arena, according to the local authorities there. Trump's campaign staff fervently disputes the number to be so low, and also makes the claim that thousands others who wanted to enter the arena was blocked and prevented from entering by protestors blocking the metal-detector security accesses around the arena.

In other news, the plans initially were for Trump to conduct a smaller rally outside the arena after the main one, for overflow crowds who were not able to get into the arena, but those plans were called off due to not enough crowds outside the arena.....
