Two of the five coaches who have won titles with teams featuring players who have won multiple MVPs. |
At the time Donovan won, none of her players had multiple MVPs |
Correct. That does make her unique among the five coaches for whom that is true.
But it also reminds us that you can't separate players and talent from coaching outcomes.

It's early, but I'm surprised it's not closer. New WNBA fans probably don't know about Chancellor.

He inevitably suffers a bit from the same thing as Phil Jackson. Given plenty of credit by most for all their winning, but there's always a little bit of "anyone could've won with all that talent". Of course, the same thing could be (and has been) thrown at Reeve. |

I think Reeve's achievements came against much tougher, more organized competition. Chancellor had the advantage of the ABL weakening the WNBA, a lot of new coaches at that level who weren't really ready and/or qualified and of course, the fact that no one knew how good Cynthia Cooper was.

Yep. Starting a petition for the Mystics to fire Mike T and rehire Trudi Lacey.

There are different levels of suckiness, Trudi Lacey being the suckiest of them all.

Wow. That was really dang close. Do Twitter polls show a hard vote count anywhere? I know it shows total votes cast, but do they dow number cast for each option? Eyeballing that looks like one or two votes could have swung the results in the other direction.

Only 90 votes were cast, so it's quite easy to do the math:.
Thibault : 46 votes(51%)
Dunn: 44 votes(49%)

Thoughts on Cheryl Reeve winning the WNBA G.O.A.T Coach Challenge: Not a surprise. Her four titles speaks volumes as well as her popularity of the Minnesota Lynx fan base and organization |
I thought your complaint about Reeve was more for her work as a GM, not so much as for her coaching.

Both. As GM she gets rid of the player(s) the coach doesn't want because the coach would rather lose in the 1st round of the playoffs than make the Finals or wants every team in the league to win except her own, etc. And every year before and after the team has underachieved based on their talent level and has never overacheieved, which is a sign of bad/mediocre coaching.
