There must be a story to TELL, but....she just seems so utterly vapid and numb. How else does anyone with a viable soul live her life?

I also can't decide WHO determines these *religious* photo ops....even his advisors can't be that dumb. Are they his brainchild?

I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that she is both a human trafficking victim, and now an abused spouse.

When Chauvin gets off or gets away with a slap on the wrist, the city might actually get burnt down.

Just Minneapolis? I think this whole country will go down in flames if that happens.

i'm really trying very hard to make allowances for this, as i often do for things i don't understand or can't relate to, but i'm equally compelled to ask, who are these people?

They walk among us. Shocked

I have studied the bible more than the average Christian, and there are plenty of warnings of the charlatans who will pose in "His name". Some things in that book are spot on!

The irony is, if you're a person who "speaks in tongues", you're probably a conservative evangelical fundy, and if that's true, you need to be outraged that he did this in front of an EPISCOPAL church, and a Catholic memorial to The Pope, or forfeit your fundy card. Razz It really demonstrates the intellectual insincerity of these misguided folks.

What's disrespectful is brandishing a symbol of freedom in the faces of people that are not actually free.

Drew brees needs to shut the fuck up. those descendants of slaves who protect him on the football field should take a knee as soon as the ball is snapped, and let the other teams defense drag that motherfucker up and down that field.

To talk about sacrifices made for the country by the people who served in the military...does he not know about the black men who also served this country proudly in the same wars as his grandfathers, only to return to this country and not be afforded the same rights and benefits as his grandfathers. and yet we african-americans love our country, cause our grandparents, and our grandparents grandparents built it.

He would have a good defense if he stopped as soon as Floyd passed out. It is in their manual that you can do that (there would be an argument about whether it was warranted). But he went for another 2+ minutes and continued after another officer said he couldn't feel a pulse. Not sure if true as it seems so hard to believe, but I also read that the ambulance person had to slap his leg to get him to remove his knee. He was being filmed the whole time as well and there is a still of that video where he is looking right at the camera. Seems like he lost his mind.

Also, who's going to be the a$$hole defense attorney to take on his case? I know there's some with no souls, but who's going to sign up for that?

I'm sure the FOP has lawyers on retainer for just this kind of thing.

I hate seeing the National guard and here in DC, Federal law enforcement (of all description ) going face to face with protesters.
for example

https://img-s-msn-com.akamaized.net/tenant/amp/entityid/BB14R1tQ.img?h=0&w=720&m=6&q=60&u=t&o=f&l=f

Because one, it is a provocation in and of its self, and two, the NG and Feds cant engage in dialogue with protesters like local cops can (when possible)

this is a good example from the US Capitol, these are the talks that need to happen between protesters and law enforcement.Does it fix everything? No,but does it help gain a little understanding...can't hurt.

the dialogue starts around the 21:00 its about 12-13mins long...

Minneapolis bans police chokeholds in wake of Floyd death

https://apnews.com/ce3c4c56b683ae47d26bec1045a35fb7

Quote:
The agreement requires court approval and would become enforceable in court, unlike the department’s current policies on the use of force and duties to intervene. It would require officers to immediately report to their superiors when they see use of any neck restraint or chokehold.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says league was wrong for not listening to players earlier about racism

Quote:
"We, the National Football League, admit we were wrong for not listening to NFL players earlier and encourage all to speak out and peacefully protest," Goodell said.

In the video Goodell says, "It has been a difficult time for our country. In particular, black people in our country. First, my condolences to the families of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and all the families who have endured police brutality."
