And yet Joe Biden is out there walking with the protesters. #45 is such a coward.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich calls Trump 'deranged' over response to George Floyd protests
https://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/in-the-know/500500-spurs-coach-gregg-popovich-calls-trump-deranged-over-response

Quote:
"If Trump had a brain, even if it was 99 percent cynical, he would come out and say something to unify people. But he doesn’t care about bringing people together. Even now. That’s how deranged he is," Popovich said. "It’s all about him. It’s all about what benefits him personally. It’s never about the greater good. And that’s all he’s ever been."

“It’s so clear what needs to be done," Popovich added. "We need a president to come out and say simply that ‘black lives matter.’ Just say those three words."

"But he won’t and he can’t," Popovich said. "He can’t because it’s more important to him to mollify the small group of followers who validate his insanity. But it’s more than just Trump. The system has to change. I’ll do whatever I can do to help, because that’s what leaders do. But he can’t do anything to put us on a positive path, because he’s not a leader."

Wendy's faces backlash after a franchisee donates more than $440,000 to Trump, as #WendysIsOverParty explodes on Twitter

Quote:
In mid-May, the White House announced that Muy Cos. CEO James Bodenstedt would participate in the roundtable. Muy Cos. owns and operates hundreds of Wendy's, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut locations across the US, making Bodenstedt the first fast-food franchisee to publicly advise the White House on how to help the restaurant industry recover from the coronavirus pandemic.

Bodenstedt donated more than $440,000 to the president's reelection campaign, Business Insider reported at the time. Most recently, in March, Bodenstedt donated $200,000 to the Trump Victory PAC.

News about the CEO's donations resurfaced on social media this week. While Bodenstedt is an independent franchisee and Muy Cos. also owns and operates Taco Bell and Pizza Hut locations, Wendy's has faced the brunt of the backlash.

Bush administration alums form pro-Biden super PAC

Quote:
Former officials from the George W. Bush administration have formed a super PAC to support former Vice President Joe Biden’s White House campaign.

The super PAC, dubbed 43 Alumni For Biden, referring to the 43rd president, was formed Monday, according to a Tuesday filing with the Federal Election Commission.

Karen Kirksey, a former Treasury Department official from the Bush administration, is listed as the group’s treasurer and custodian of records.

People don't mind the military being used for crowd control when they disagree with the crowd. Don't hear many people today complaining about federal troops being sent to the south to enforce integration despite the express objections of the governors.

Joe Biden (and Hillary Clinton before him) is right with the Never Trumpers on unbridled use of the US war and spy machine (and would never disagree with it) and also in full support of unlimited illegal workers in the USA and unlimited Chinese workers for American manufacturing companies. And they don't have to worry about being embarrassed by tweets or having him twice bellow "Bush lied" (about Iraq and WMDs) at a debate.

That comparison is disgusting.

Really. Just like when the military 'intervened' when the southern governors resisted freeing the slaves, too? Rolling Eyes Quite the false equivalence.

False equivalencies are fun, aren't they?

If the issue were just "objection to any usage of the military, for any reason, ever", then sure, you would have a point. But people don't tend to object to the military coming in to help out after disasters.

The problem is not that the military is used, rather it is upon whom it is brought to bear and for what ends. When it is being used to help stop oppression and is fighting on the side of the people against the state, then yes, people aren't going to take issue with it. But when it is being used against the population on the side of the state, especially when it is being brought to bear against long oppressed peoples who are crying out for justice...

At this point, I suspect the national guard would be less violent than the cops in a lot of places.

In any event, y'all all missed the point of what I was saying.
