Yep. I came across it when I was channel surfing a few nights ago and had to stop and watch the whole thing, for about the 50th time.

Interesting. The media is just reporting this actor's death now, even though he died 2 months ago.

The Statler Brothers were the first live concert I ever went to. Harold stopped the show so I could take a photo of the group.

If Harold sang bass, it must be his deep low "KANG" preceding kan-ga-roo in my favorite Statler song, "Flowers on the Wall".

The name Statler? The story is they appropriated the brand name on a box of kleenex in some hotel they were staying at.

Bohannon

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/02/arts/music/hamilton-bohannon-dead.html

Quote:
Mr. Bohannon became known for long-running tracks like “Foot Stompin’ Music,” “Disco Stomp” and “Bohannon’s Beat,” which often featured straightforward vocals chanted over a driving beat. They were made to keep dancers on the floor, and many of them became staples for disco D.J.s; his highest-charting single, “Let’s Start II Dance Again” (1981), reached No. 5 on Billboard’s dance/club chart.

Jamaican singer Millie Small has died at the age of 73 after suffering a stroke.

The star was most famous for her hit single My Boy Lollipop, which reached number two in both the US and the UK in 1964.
It remains one of the biggest-selling ska songs of all time, with more than seven million sales.

Island Records founder Chris Blackwell announced her death and remembered her as "a sweet person... really special".

It was Blackwell who brought Small to London in 1963 and produced her version of My Boy Lollipop, showcasing her childlike, high-pitched vocals.

"I would say she's the person who took ska international because it was her first hit record," he told the Jamaica Observer.

This was an absolutely gutting thing for me to read this morning when I saw it on a Facebook group I belong to. While the band has chosen to essentially ignore Howe's time with the band as a part of their history, I was a big fan of his work. I really loved his voice. The only time I was ever able to see Bad Company in concert was when Brian Howe was fronting the band. And the show was excellent.

His solo album 'Circus Bar' was amazing and one of my favorite releases the year it came out.

Off-stage, he was a big supporter for animals, so the animals of the world lost an advocate as well.

He was a pretty big deal in the late 70's. Jimmy Carter hung some of his work in the White House.

Uptown Records Founder Andre Harrell Dies Suddenly

Quote:
Harrell's roots in Hip-Hop are deep. he started as a rapper in a group called Dr. Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde and later would go on to found Uptown Records, home of Mary J. Blige, Jodeci and Father MC. Harrell also infamously fired Sean "Diddy" Combs when he worked for Uptown Records, forcing him to be into a music mogul. He also served at the president/CEO of Motown Records.

Little Richard

Quote:
He sold more than 30 million records worldwide, and his influence on other musicians was equally staggering, from the Beatles and Otis Redding to Creedence Clearwater Revival and David Bowie. In his personal life, he wavered between raunch and religion, alternately embracing the Good Book and outrageous behavior.

I never met Little Richard despite living in his hometown. I did meet his grandmother several times back in the day. She loved to talk about him and how well he was doing.
