This should be a fun topic, *no snark please*. We all know that great coaches beget other coaches, and it should be fun to list the ones we can think of that our favorite coaches have produced. The reason I thought of this, other than quarantine boredom, was the obvious succession of Niele Ivy to Muffet McGraw's chair. I'll start with Pat Summitt.
Kellie Harper (Tennessee)
Nikki McCray (Mississippi State)
Nikki Caldwell Fargas (LSU)
Semeka Randall-Lay (Winthrop)
Matthew Mitchell (Kentucky)
and some ACs:
Niya Butts and Kyra Elzy (Kentucky)
Tasha Butts (GA Tech)
Bridgette Gordon (SMU)
I know there are others because at one time the coaching tree numbered around 30+, but my mind on quarantine is a little foggy. Anyway, I'd love to see the trees of others.

And I was hoping to learn about the trees of other coaches.

Questions...
--- For purposes of your thread topic, are you only referring to players who played for a particular coach, then became coaches themselves? I know you listed Mitchell, which might make your answer obvious, but was curious about you thought (and others) about a coaching tree.
--- In other words, does a coaching tree include coaches who were assistants but not former players for a previous head coach?

| Players and graduate assistants, I think. ACs are a little different breed, as they tend to come from a different background. A GA could be listed under two different coaches, however....for instance, for hypothetical purposes, Hailee Barron, should she ever become a coach in her own right, could be listed under Kenny Brooks, Sean O'Regan, Jonathan Tsipis, or Morgan Valley. However, I was thinking more in terms of the Great coaches, like Geno, Tara, Muffet, etc. I am really curious to see their coaching trees as I don't know much about them. Also, does Harry Peretta have one, other than Denise Dillon?

Mickie is at Georgia Tech with Nell Fortner.

| Mickie is a product of La Tech originally, as is Kim Mulkey, Not sure exactly where either got their coaching start. I do remember Kim as a player though in the Barmore days. Now HE was a good coach!

If you followed Barmore's tree through the iterations of other coaches trained by his assistants, I'd guess it'd be solid.
DeMoss played for Barmore (though officially for Hogg) I think just one year, but she didn't coach at Tech, even as an assistant. She went to Memphis State right after graduation.

Barmore has eight former assistants who have gone on to be head coaches:
Kim Mulkey (Baylor)
Gary Blair (A&M)
Kurt Budke (Tech, Ok. State)
Nell Fortner (Purdue, USA)
Kristy Curry (Purdue, TTech, Alabama)
Stacey Johnson Klein (Fresno St)
Chris Long (Tech)
Jennifer White (St. Edwards)
Several players have also gone on to be head coaches
Teresa Weatherspoon (Tech)
Brooke Stoehr (Northwestern St., Tech)
Amy Brown (Tennessee Tech)
Angela Lawson (Incarnate Word)
If you were looking at branches of the tree, I know a few of Mulkey's players have moved on into coaching. I'm not sure about Blair's. The only assistant I can think of from Baylor who's become a head coach is Karen Aston.
One oddity about Barmore's tree is that he really taught Hogg how to coach, but then she hired him as her assistant.

| Debbie Ryan has Geno Auriemma and Dawn Staley. That's a pretty good set of headliners.

Didn't Barmore work for Mulkey as assistant at Baylor for a short time, too?

I believe he got an AC position at Marquette right out of college.

Tyler worked as a GA for the men's team.

I remember people saying that she was only a figurehead and he was the real coach.

Yes indeed. Impressive headliners. She also has Tammi Reiss (Rhode Island), Tonya Cardoza (Temple), Audra Smith (South Carolina State), Monica Wright (AC at Virginia), Sharnee Zoll (AC at Rhode Island), and Jenny Boucek of the NBA's Mavericks. Wendy Palmer seems to be out of coaching now but had an HC stint at UNC-Greensboro after some assistant jobs at Virginia and Kentucky.
In terms of non-traditional coaches, former UVA point guard Dena Evans runs a prominent guard academy in Texas and is well regarded nationally for developing players.
And of course future Naismith HOFer Val Ackerman played for Ryan as well.
