The thing that struck me in the article about the Indiana players was that apparently Indiana hasn't signed anyone for next year. That doesn't bode well for the Hoosier women, who are having a pretty good year this year.

That's because they would have had 14 players next year if those two hadn't transferred. IU only would have lost their lone senior. They'll be fine.

How is that? Explain, please.

Indiana is a very young team. Breanna Wise is the only senior this year on a team with 6 freshmen, 2 sophomores and 4 juniors. That’s 13 alone. For next year, you subtract Wise and keep those two transfers, that’s 14.

I guess with 3 scholarships now it gives them some flexibility, and could allow for a grad transfer or two if need be.

So after the two transfers, IU basically loses Wise and gains Danielle Patterson (ND transfer) for 20-21? Not bad. Will be interesting to see if they can leapfrog Maryland, Northwestern, Iowa etc. and finally be the queens of the Big Ten next year.

I know Patberg got a 6th year (next year), but does anyone think she might/could go pro after this year?

I've seen Patberg play probably 5-6 times on TV and she definitely can help Indiana and stay in school next year and I've read nothing to make me think she would come out early. And to be honest, I don't know if I see a WNBA career for her.

Diamond Bragg, 5'9 sophomore G from Camp Hill, PA, is leaving Wisconsin. She becomes the latest Badger to announce transfer plans, joining Courtney Frederickson, 6'2 RS Jr F from Minnetonka, MN, who's grad-transferring, and Niya Beverly. This leaves Jonathan Tsipis with 7 scholarship layers (one a walk-on) and three incoming freshmen. Hard to get a program going that way!

Adia Barnes likes the transfer portal almost as much as she likes the international recruiting scene. Bendu Yeaney who has averaged over nine points a game during her create Indiana and brings a defensive element is becoming a wildcat.

If you're counting here are some numbers regarding Arizona 2020.

* International kids 7
* transfers 3
* Number of players on scholarship next season 16

I've liked Yeaney in what I saw of her, which admittedly wasn't a lot.

Do you think that 16 players under scholarship means McDonald is going pro?

That's what I WAS thinking. However Raoul how's the roster update that even with Bendu on the 2020 list, Arizona is at 15.

Thats crazy , her career went downhill after the allegations . She didnt get much time for C Viv at all . I would check the box scores alot and wonder why she was only averaging 3 mpg . So this is not surprise Sad

Meh, she'll be running off to Notre Dame, I'm sure of it.

While it is a possibility, she has turned down the Irish before. As I recall, Notre Dame had offered a scholarship to her, but Mabrey was the Irish's second PG recruit option, so she picked the Hokies.

However, after the current disastrous season for the Irish, Dara is in a stronger bargaining position.

Kyra Lambert was granted a sixth year of eligibility, and, as such will grad transfer from Duke.

Olivia Owens has entered the transfer portal from Maryland. She was a red-shirt sophomore this past season and came off the bench her freshman season.

well I'm pretty sure our roster is full with three incoming Freshmen and (I think) Anna Wilson got an extra year. Since hers came first I assume they already committed to her. I had that ND thought too...but hope it isn't true. Wherever she goes, she should immediately be a help. At the beginning of the year, she was touted as our 'best' player. Fortunately we had some good wings step up in her place, and especially if we get Haley Jones back, we shouldn't miss her terribly. Still kinda sad. Crying or Very sad

This is correct. Stanford is out of scholarships since Anna Wilson is coming back supposedly. It's also possible that Carrington also entered the portal so that she could explore her options and the situation still is fluid pending NCAA waivers for Wilson.

A goodly chunk of the Nevada team is in the transfer portal, it appears (per Raoul):
LaPraisjiah Johnson, 5'9 Jr G, Killeen, TX
Miki'ala Maio, 5'9 Jr G, Nanakuli, HI
Jacquelyn Nakai, 5/7 Jr G, Flagstaff, AZ
Essence Booker, 5'8 So PG, Las Vegas, NV

Looks like just about the entire guard line!

Mi'Cole Cayton is grad-transferring from Cal. She spent a lot of the past 3 seasons injured but may yet have something to contribute somewhere. She had originally signed with Nebraska.

It's hard to say if she can help anyone at this point. She was a player who relied on athleticism and explosiveness more than skill, and she hasn't played for at least two years.

Still, let's hope for the best and that she finds a place to finally play a full season of college basketball.

That's big. It would seem natural that she's want to go to another national caliber program that could use a 6-5 power player right away -- and who wouldn't.
