The Sophie Cunningham / Keely Froling incident (at 1:08:08 of the video above) was trending* on social media today. The WNBL decided it was worth a $250 fine, which didn't impress the Capitals.
WNBL stars fume as Cunningham dodges ban despite high contact charge

Tomorrow night's decider should be extra spicy.

* by WNBL standards - i.e. more than zero engagements

Weird incident. It's not like Cunningham got into it with anyone directly, she kind of appeared to just elbow one of the opposing players... as a reaction to an accidental swipe on the chin?

I also watched the vid long enough to know... I've been mispronouncing Ezi Magbegor's last name this whole time. Embarassed I've been saying something like "Mick BEG-grr" but it's really "MAG, big-gore". Gonna have to wrap my head around that one for the next couple days or so. Confused At least in my head I got "Ezzy" right. Laughing

Plenty of commentators who should know better still call her McBeggar as well so you're already ahead of the curve.

I wonder if Tolo has any interest in showing up for the Sparks again. Given all her injuries she might be better off wrapping herself in cotton wool until the Olympics, but you have to think she'd have a decent shot to beat out someone like Marie Gulich if she turned up in LA.

Yeah, she has been looking very much like her usual self in the back end of this season and could definitely contribute for a WNBA team. Maybe even more than before now that her medium range J is reliable. I'd love to see it, but I couldn't blame her for going the cotton wool option either.

I've been forgetting to mention that Julie Vanloo has continued her interesting choices this season by signing with Lulea in Sweden.

Also, I was watching Bogut and Plumlee yesterday and briefly forgot what year I was in.
