The concern I still have about Bernie Sanders is that to me, he's a potential double-edged sword, if that's even the right term.
If he's the Democratic nominee, it could turn away moderates to where they wouldn't vote for him in November. Trump then wins.
If he isn't the Democratic nominee, it could cause enough of the Bernie-or-bust supporters of his to instead vote for Trump in November, like some of them did in 2016. Trump then wins.
And it appears he doesn't have room to expand his politics like other candidates do, because to me and others, what his political calling card is, is his political consistency over the decades. He at best can market himself as a "democratic socialist" if he wins the Democratic Primary. But he can't shy away from the "socialist" term that, while I and many others don't find it scary, does scare different and/or less informed people, especially the aforementioned moderates.
My favorite candidate is and has been Warren, but full disclosure, I'm not sure she would still be my favorite if she weren't a woman. And Sanders is still probably my second-favorite. All in all, every Democratic candidate has pros and cons, and none of them at this point would be a "slam dunk" candidate. The point of this post, I guess, is that I think Sanders just being in the field adds to that riskiness of everyone overall - not that I necessarily blame it on him, cuz I pretty much don't. I'm just hoping and praying that those who both support him and won't support anyone else if he doesn't make it need to take a good long hard look at themselves and think clearly and carefully before November's election...

That they are human rights as well?
Not sure why these are mutually exclusive? Seems all are pretty essential for life in the modern world. |
Yeah, of all the problems I have with Sanders, his views on economic human rights aren’t one of them..

Bernie polled better against Trump in 2016 than Clinton. And he polls well against Trump now. The Democratic elite and corporate media are the groups that he does poorly with.

Bernie isn’t polling better against Trump than Clinton was at this point.

That's one word for it. He just got beat up from every side, especially Warren's. |

Bernie is spot on, baby. IFFFF a country is considered the MOST wealthy/gifted country in the world, ANDDD statistically spends the MOST per capita of any country on health care, THEN, YESSS, that health care should be a basic *human right* of those citizens.
As our system is now rigged, Big Pharma/Insurers/etc. rake in billions in profit while the laborers and indigent often don't have the most basic of coverage. This inequity is deserved by neither Fat Cats nor the uninsured. ESPECIALLY as it is all FIXABLE, provided Americans give up the fucktarded notion that all must EARN what they get.

If true, that would mean that Bernie isn't polling as well as Bernie was in 2016 if it is true that Sanders polled better vs Trump in 2016. Which would not be a surprise as Trump is now an incumbent without a recession. But RealClearPolitics has a Feb 19 national poll with Sanders +6, Biden +7 and Bloomberg +5 versus Trump. So "Bernie can't win" doesn't seem any truer than "No Democrat can win".

Maaaybe. But hypotheticals do us no good here. She did NOT stomp the Greatest Clown of All, when it was hers for the taking. Her miscalculations cannot be repeated.

Already have the “Democrat” version of Trump in Bloomberg.

Cardiology director says there's one heart measure Sanders could disclose but isn't
Quote: |
But by releasing one simple indicator of his heart health, Sanders could address some lingering questions, the president of the American College of Cardiology, Richard Kovacs, tells NBC News.
. . . .
That indicator, called the left ventricular ejection fraction, is provided to any patient after a heart attack, Kovacs said. It’s a measure of how much blood volume the heart pushes out with an individual heartbeat and it correlates with the risk for future cardiac events and mortality rate.
“Normally the heart will push out 60 percent,” Kovacs said. “If you go down to 40 or 50 percent, we regard that as mild impairment of the left ventricle. Thirty to 40 percent would be moderate. If you get to 30 percent, that would be severe.”
Sanders hasn’t revealed what the number was at the time of his heart attack nor what it is today. |

Trump needs an independent mental health assessment and we should be all entitled to the results.
