Michigan at Minnesota is on BTN now. Michigan took a 23-14 lead in 1Q, shooting 60%.

I guess this was a joke, but in fact, they came up with the big upset win Laughing

Michigan ended up winning 77-52. Amy Dilk had 22, and the Wolverines had their best A/TO game of the year, 25/7.

I checked in on Northwestern-Michigan State during commercials of Westminster. Northwestern, with most of the same group that JMU narrowly lost to last year in the WNIT semis (minus Pallas), were just punishing MSU and eventually won, 85-55. Ouch.

TCU played 'em tough. The Baylor domination eventually overshadowed TCU's play in the 4th quarter -- 19 point win for the #2 team in the nation. I think TCU might be a Sweet 16 team.

Texas decided to suck today -- lose at home by 18 to Iowa State who racked up 26 turnovers.

My favorite poster on this board loves to be critical of Richards not being able to shoot. I have watched Richards make more midrange jump shots this season than her entire college career. She makes more jump shots than Ruthy Hebard for sure. Cool

Lots of really close games all over D1 today but not in Albany, where the Great Danes chewed-up the Hartford Hawks, 63-40, and sent them plunging to a 0-25 record.

Maryland making Iowa look 2nd tier...or maybe 3rd tier. They can hardly even get the ball down the floor.

Terps under Brenda have always been offense-first teams, but tonight was the best defensive performance I’ve ever seen a Maryland team play!

The new defense Coach B installed this season took a while; it looked pretty weak early on; but now it’s really giving teams major headaches, and leading to some easy transition baskets.

Maryland seems to be coming together at the right time.

Hannah had a great game. My fantasy player Duffy not so much. Crying or Very sad

Interesting, if somewhat misleading, stat -- TCU has not beaten Baylor since 1990. Of course, TCU being left out of the B12 has a lot to do with that, but they still played some. It amounts to about 30 games.

I agree 100% with you, Ripledc. I just said almost the same thing to my friend last night. I'm loving this defense.

Stat-wise, maybe Ciara didn’t have the most productive game. But she does so much on the court that doesn’t show up in the books - she is very deserving of that with major player of the year. It was really a great game last night (with the exception of the whistle-happy refs). Very fun to watch.

Oregon St is losing after 3 quarters to USC 51-45. How far the Beavers have fallen, once being looked at as a #2 seed in the NCAA, it now looks like they may not even host.

I was thinking the same thing. Also, if you are USC, and you are hosting one of the top ranked teams, shouldn’t you have more fans in the stands? It looks pretty empty in there! Plus, the male announcer is extremely annoying!

This is normal for USC. They never draw that many people. Plus its a long weekend. No one wants to deal with DTLA traffic on a Friday night.

Late night Friday game, three day weekend, and Valentine's day....not going to get a big crowd.

UCLA doesn't have a big crowd either tonight. They are down big at the half against Oregon.

USC 72 Oregon St 66 Final

Unfortunately USC (and for that matter UCLA) do not draw for women's basketball.

As for Oregon St, this loss drops the Beavers to 7-6 in the Pac 12, with UCLA and Stanford coming up.
