Shocked Shocked Shocked

Hopefully, you weren't anywhere near the quarantined places where the latest deadly coronavirus broke out. The news reported how it's already come over here from Asia.

Actually I was. Macau is a part of China. But my symptoms don't really match coronavirus. My symptoms have all been associated with my head, cough, runny nose and a bad headache, as well as some other associated aches and pains, but it has not been respiratory. I am working on the results right now as my meds have kicked in so I have a few hours that I will feel ok. I will post later tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest.

Hopefully, between any jet lag, bizarre viruses, etc., you'll be recovered enough to do week 11's results before 12's. My selections from my own slate 'bout killed me this week. Evil or Very Mad

Feel Better! Very Happy

Week 11 started out with Myrtle selecting an excellent slate of games where no game was unanimous. Two games were selected the same way by 9 of the 10 with 9 correctly picking Kentucky over Texas A&M and only 1(Adamj) of 10 correctly picking Minnesota over Purdue. The week was all about 11 as the average wins was 11 for all players, including half who had exactly 11 right.

Thanks to his Minnesota pick, Adamj was able to win the week with 15 correct, vaulting him back within 4 of the overall lead.

Week 11 results:

1. Adamj ...… 15
2, Pureform... 13
3. Matt …..…. 11
3. Pilight …... 11
3. Myrtle ……. 11
3. Calbearman 11
3. Lynxmania 11
8. Hoopsmom 10
8. Howee ….. 10
10.Summertime 8

Overall results:

1. Matt …..…… 120 11 131
2. Adamj ….... 112 15 127
3. Howee …..… 112 10 122
4. Myrtle ……... 108 11 119
4. Calbearman. 108 11 119
6. Lynxmania .. 106 11 117

Week 12 Howee took control of the game picking duties. While his selections did not create the balance of Myrtle's games, the overall result was even slightly more difficult. There were 4 games which were picked unanimously and players went 2-2 in those games. Of the 3 games with 9 players agreeing, two were picked correctly by only 1, Texas Tech over Oklahoma (Summertime Blues) and Duke over Georgia Tech (Pureform).

The week was very close going into Sunday but thanks to his picks of Oregon and Virginia, Pilight was able to end the week with 13 correct to win the week. Pilight picks the games this week, but based on Howee's performance in Week 11 that might not be a good thing.

Week 11 results:

1. Pilight ...… 13
2, Pureform... 12
2. Adamj ……. 12
4. Matt …... 11
4. Hoopsmom 11
4. Calbearman 11
4. Lynxmania 11
8. Myrtle ……. 10
9.Summertime 9
8. Howee ….. 7

Overall results:

1. Matt …..…… 131 11 142
2. Adamj ….... 127 12 139
3. Calbearman. 119 11 130
4. Howee …..… 122 7 129
4. Myrtle ……….. 119 10 129
6. Lynxmania .. 117 11 128
7. Pureform ….. 115 12 127
8. Pilight …….... 114 13 127
9. Summertime. 110 9 119
10. Hoopsmom . 108 11 119

The Miami Ohio vs Western Michigan game was postponed until Monday February 3. Since the game will be played this coming Monday I will still include the game for this week's totals.

Week 14 has proven very difficult to choose games. My initial review had over 40 possible games. the list should be finalized by the end of the Australian Open semifinal between Muguruza and Halep (excellent match so far.)

Week 14 games

(Because of the number of competitive games I was able to select a balanced group of contests throughout the country. No more than 2 games from any conference, no teams under .500, I think, and at least one game every day. I realize that Howee will find something to complain about, particularly since Myrtle has caught him.)

A note to all players:

The Week 13 results will be posted after the rescheduled Western Michigan - Miami Ohio game. But based on the games played so far and the picks for the remaining game the weekly winners will be Summertime Blues and Myrtle.

Also, please note that there are two games tomorrow so please get your picks in by 6pm Eastern tomorrow.
