Conflicted about this one. If Tennessee wins the boards (which they can) and limits their own mistakes/turnovers (a huge concern for Harper), they can pull off the upset on the road. I believe Rennia Davis is the most talented player on the court, so she if has a big game the Huskies could be in trouble. If Horston or Burrell go off, Tennessee very much has a chance.

But Auriemma is built for these moments and they are at home. And they have a better starting 5. Mukarat could kill the Lady Vols off the bench at the three-point line.

I'm not gonna lie, it's going be very difficult to watch this one without Pat on the sidelines. The game misses her, every day.

This is the best Tenn has played in about 12 years.

Neither team showing any sort of coherent half court offense. Everything is turnovers and individual effort. UTenn faster as well as much bigger. UConn getting lots of medium quality shots but missing 70% of them, same as against Baylor.

Looks like this series was renewed at precisely the right time. Would've been very lopsided the past several years in favor of UConn.

Nice to see a close game, but....it's NOT necessarily *vintage* TN/CT.

I think it's fair to say that Harper has already coached her way right past Holly. There's a better level of team play (HorstonMaybeNotYet?). I'm a bit surprised to see a not-so-great level of ball movement and penetration by TN.

UConn's 31/21% on FG and 3s is a bit scary.....TN should be leading by a lot more, imo.

Anyone else see cthskzfn in that wild section, with all the nekkid body paint and wild wig? Shocked

Tenn needs to take better care of the ball, which has been one of their biggest problems all year.

Geno reverting back to a no-true-post-player group of players, with results. Maybe he just doesn't know how to win these big matchups with post players anymore. Wink

Dangerfield giving Makurat a picture-perfect transition pass, about to get the assist! ...until Makurat blows the layup. Laughing It's just that kind of year passing-wise for UConn I suppose. UConn as of now with 5 total assists on 14 made baskets; 10 turnovers.

Geno finally ends his fake starting of Irwin in the second half and also keeps ONO on the bench, as he did against Baylor. And it pays off with increased energy.

Key and KK both with a bad case of drop-itis this half. I think they lost control of the ball 7 or8 times.

The struggling Dangerfield should have been benched ages ago. Geno doesn't have any back up PG's like Kim does. Makarat heating up.

Impressed with UT's play in the first half. Getting sloppier this half though.

Tenn needs to get their starting five back in and leave them in for the rest of the game.

It's best when UConn wins these games against Tennessee. Good for the sport too.

Dangerfield is a good scorer, but she makes some bad decisions with the ball. I can't wait to see how Griffin will look as a senior at Uconn. She has WNBA written all over her.

Jazz is a far better ball-handler and decision-maker than either Horston or Burrell, and I don’t think that KJH uses that to the team's advantage.

Re UConn, it ended up as a nice win but I have mixed feelings about the performance and execution.

I liked very much the play of Griffin, Makurat and fourth quarter Ododa. But I was very disappointed by the shooting of Walker, Williams and Dangerfield (13-49 = 26.5%) and with the overall team offensive execution (32%, 22%, 67% shooting and only 12 assists).

UConn would have lost with that performance against a similar team that didn't constantly shoot themselves in the foot with 27 TO's, many of them clownishly unforced.

Well, it was .... interesting. Definitely a tale of 2 halves. I believe Kellie is off to a great start, and will see much improvement even this season yet. UConn's FG% was not impressive, but they more than made up for it with impressive, cohesive HUSTLE. Griffin is a star.

UConn efficiency (per Manley's formula):

Griffin: 24
Makurat: 13
Ododa: 13
Dangerfield: 7
Williams: 5
Walker: 4
Irwin: -3
