I think Fowles is still under warranty and should run for more miles. Tires are not yet bald.

Robinson will suffice.

I'm sure Collier's working on her 3 point shot.

Moore is the big question.

Yes, but she also has to clean the gym and do the grounds-keeping even in the off season. Laughing Laughing

Lynx to hire Katie Smith as an assistant coach.

So, should we view this as a trade: Hopkins for Smith?

Did Winsidr beat Megdal to the punch again?

I’m skeptical and disappointed with this hire. To me it seems less like a hire that will help the coaching staff get better and more like a promotional tie-in hire. “Katie Smith returns to Minnesota!” Just watch.

Is Reeve trying to send a message that the Liberty made a mistake replacing Smith with Hopkins? Stop playing these kind of games with our franchise, Reeve.

No, because the Lynx didn't decide to get rid Hopkins. Assistant coaches can go on their own wherever they want for a promotion. 😃

Obviously, we're joking. But intentional or not, people will always make that mental connection of two coaches swapping jobs. Then, they'll follow with a judgement about which team "won" or "lost."

Also being reported is that long time Lynx assistant Shelley Patterson is leaving the Lynx to join Hopkins in Brooklyn.

That seems like a big deal. Patterson has been discussed as a HC candidate.

Hmm... if Reeve is losing two assistants at the same time, that could rattle her, especially losing longtimer Patterson.

Patterson was the guard coach, and I’ve been saying Pokey would make a good guard coach. But would Pokey know her role as an assistant? She’s been a head coach for a loooooong time. She may not be willing to take a step back like Williams, Klopp, or now Katie Smith.

She might face reality and take a demotion. It happens all the time in the NBA (and as you point out in the WNBA as well) so I don't think there is any shame in it. Fred was a HC thrice and took AC jobs after he lost his HC job.

... Fowles is #1 and Moore #2 , for the decade.

Maya to skip the 2020 season, says she “doesn’t plan to retire yet.”

That doesn’t sound like someone who plans to return to basketball. I’ll be shocked to see her play basketball again.

Okay, now quote the part surrounding her not being ready to retire.

There’s more to it than that.
