I would recommend tuning in to The Jump at 3 pm ET today.

I don't know if this was posted elsewhere but 2020 season will have 2 additional games (One home and one away per team).

source is an E-mail I received from the Connecticut Sun

Yeah, it got swamped in the CBA news but some places did mention that we're going up to 36 games. I struggle to see why, especially in an Olympic year with the inevitably shortened calendar.

Did notice that in the CBA. Was hoping for 38-40 games but I'll settle for two more. The pay increase should warrant a few more games.

Now Toad is representing the league/owners side: “You’re getting paid more, you should play more... not because you deserved more in the first place.”

Turns out 6% more games equates to 30% more cap space. Is that fair or should they have added 10 more games?

No surprise that they’d point that out, but that being said I can’t find the schedule. I think I’ll look to ESPN.

Compared to last year, everybody gets two games extra to fit into a time-frame that's 15 days shorter.

A 36 game schedule makes perfect sense....if they were eliminating east/west scheduling and wanted to power match.

Top four teams play each other four times, middle four teams play each other four times, bottom four teams play each other four times, with all other matchups happening thrice. Top four get one home and two away against bottom four, reverse against middle four. Middle four get two home and one away against bottom four, reverse against top four.

Anybody seeing any indication of “Cup” games in the schedule?
I take it these games count the same for final standings but they’re kinda like a three point moneyball game because they count towards a Cup contest? Color me confused. Too much to absorb all at once. I wonder how the GM’s are doing?

Libs have a 5 game road trip after the break meaning TWO MONTHS between games in BK that's as much as the gap between end of playoffs abd college openers...YIKES

It's the first home and first away against each conference opponent

There appear to be 14 B2Bs. Aces, Mercury, & Wings have none. Dream, Lynx, Mystics, Storm, & Sun have one. Fever, Liberty, & Sky have two. Sparks have three.

I was hoping they'd consider bringing back doing what they did back in 2013 (at least, they did it with the Storm in a couple matchups), where a team would play the same team for two straight games in the same city/venue. It would cut back on travel cost and overall mileage, which owners & players alike would surely appreciate. And I don't think us fans would make a big deal out of seeing the same opponent/matchup two games in a row, since that's how it is in the 5-game playoffs series.

These players, especially the Olympics participants, are gonna be tired this year.

But they're getting paid more at least. The schedule has always been compressed in Olympic years, so next year should be more relaxed and spread out. Let's see how many veterans don't play overseas next winter.

We just bought Liberty season's tickets on Tuesday based on 17 games and 1 preseason game. They've already charged my credit card. Are we going to get the extra home game for free? Very Happy

I'd guess that decision is up to the individual teams, but the Sun E-Mailed season ticket members and said if you've ordered season tickets it would cover the preseason and 17 home games. If you wanted the 18th game to complete your package you had to pay extra. The 18th game is the weekday camp day game.
