Michigan leads 38-35 at the half. Hillmon almost had a double-double, 18/9, shooting 7-7 from the field. Greene has 12 for OSU.
The Buckeyes are staying in the game with 47% from 3. Michigan has the rebounding edge 25-10.

Northwestern wins at Minnesota, 56-54. It was a back-and-forth game, until both teams went cold for the last 3 minutes of the fourth quarter.

ESPN stats are reporting that Maryland has 38 offense of boards and still lost. I'm not exactly sure if that's accurate that is just a tad bit off that's crazy

Terps currently last in the Big Ten in free throw percentage (63.9%) and three point shooting percentage (16.7%). They ain’t goin’ nowhere until they figure this out.

That is what's so surprising about the Terps. Normally Brenda's teams are better offensively than defensively, but not this squad. This is where not having an experienced point guard comes into play, Owusu will be good, nothing wrong with having a scoring point guard, but she's still pretty green.

Out of 34 games in 2018-19, Taylor Mikesell started all 34 and Blair Watson started 32. They weren't this bad back then--but back then, they also had Chennise Lewis, the team leader in assists by a wide margin despite coming off the bench for more than half of the games played.
Another big difference between this year and last is Brianna Fraser coming off the bench. She wasn't a world-beater, but if you break her numbers down by minutes played rather than by game, she was a solid contributor. (The Terps have historically been well-stocked with beef under the bucket, from Lang and Laura Harper through Lynetta Kizer and all the way to Brionna Jones. This year is the thinnest they've been under the bucket in a long time.)

Indiana creamed Purdue last night, in a game that wasn't as close as the 18-point margin made it seem.
Purdue continues to show how much it has fallen under Sharon Versyp. Duke gets the attention, but the way Versyp has killed the Purdue program is just as bad.
My three top candidates last year all took new jobs in the offseason (Duffy, Ivey, and Kreiger), but there are still plenty of coaches I would rather see get a chance at this team. Let's hope the AD can finally pull the trigger cut Versyp loose.

They aren't making the E8. Full stop. |
Hard to see them winning either the Big Ten conference or the tournament, so they'll be praying for an at-large bid at best. Which may or may not come, depending on how the rest of the conference progresses.
The odd thing is that nobody really saw this coming, e.g., they were ranked as high as #4 in ESPN's pre-season poll.

Maryland: IMO their two super studs are over-rated and their role players just haven't been fulfilling their roles. Owusu has been good for a Freshman, but they really miss the maturity of a Lewis at the point.
