The problem with Johannes is that she probably won't show up on a consistent basis. France has been reliably a top European team, and most foreign players feel greater allegiance to their national team than to their WNBA team. At best, Marine will probably be here for most of the season every other year.

As far as Sabally/Ionescu goes, I can definitely see the argument. With Sabally, you can check all the boxes. With Ionescu, you can question her quickness while hoping she offsets it with smarts and skill. But my experience is that when you have a player that the whole world loves, you should just make the pick and not overthink it. You're probably not smarter than everyone else. I remember thinking Shaquille O'Neal was just a big lug and LeBron James was too much of a tweener. Very, very wrong! So, unless Sabrina expresses a desire to not play in NY AND Sabally comes out, I would still take Ionescu.

That is why it is a hard trade to figure out

combining need, the fact that Dallas is kind of deep and will already have the #2 pick to add and figuring out what the #9 pick in a meh draft is worth (assuming it is #9 that gets traded) it is hard to see the right trade and trade partner
