1. The Muff and her feminist propaganda ALL FEMALE STAFF is gonna be off the radar all year. What a bad year they are gonna have.

Doesn't Geno Auriemma have an all female staff? When was the last time he had a male assistant coach?

Doesn't Tara VanDerveer have an all female staff as well?

BTW, 3 of her last 4 assistant coach hires were her former players, so that would also tilt the scales to female staff members.

Did you also have a problem when McGraw used to say that she felt that she had to have a male on her staff? She changed her mind on that and decided to mention why, and a lot of people got all worked up.

You miss the point. McGraw publicly admits that she practices gender discrimination in her hiring decisions. The others have never said that.

Winner! Winner! McChicken dinner!

If the man had a couple of national championships and a record like McGraw's, he wouldn't be fired.

There are many, many male coaches who won't consider hiring a female assistant and nobody ever asks them about it.

IOW, McChicken is just as much as asshole as those many, many male coaches.

Yeah, but a woman who declines to hire men is the target of constant criticism. A man who declines to hire women isn't even noticed.

I don't care who Muffet hires and I don't care what she says about it. However, I will call her out for being an opportunist. She didn't need to say a word, just keep on, keeping on. But-this is a brilliant recruiting and attention tactic. She didn't say anything when Tpsis left, because she didn't need to. Now, her recruiting has been suspect with POY type players and this is how she has chosen to start a resurgence again.

Just like Staley, who acts like a 22 year old on twitter. That is a recruiting tactic. And it's brilliant.

We agree- McChicken is an asshole for it.

You mean like, say, Sam Brunelle (who committed before she started talking about assistant coaches)?

BTW, as opportunism goes, it apparently got one of her female assistants hired by the NBA, so I'd say that would be a win for the women getting into the Men's game.

Technically speaking, what she said was that she was doing it because the reverse wasn't true in general. That suggests that if the male coaches hired more females, she would reciprocate, so no, that isn't the same.

Her "assholeness" (as you suggest her being) is predicated on the lack of response from the other side. If one side decides to be a dick and the other side decides to be "fair" then the "fair" side will always end up being screwed. That's her point. She's just trying to level the playing field a bit.

That's not a recruiting tactic - it's a coach that most likely still considers herself part of the player's community as much as she thinks of herself as a coach. Staley's always been like that.....
