A run and gun, 3 pt shooting team can beat anyone if they get hot. I figure either tOSU or more likely DePaul have a shot at home. UConn's perimeter defense isn't very good yet.

Ohio State's 6'4" Dorka Juhasz did not play in yesterday's 75-65 win over Kent State. The announcers said she had a lower leg or knee injury. The tone seemed to be that she was being held out of the game as a precautionary measure, but OSU didn't give out much detail.

I'm in almost total agreement.

As I went down the list of possible losses, added to the obvious (Oregon, Baylor, South Carolina, USF), were any 3-pt shooting teams that were hot on game night. UConn perimeter D isn't just not "very good yet", it hasn't been very good for a few years, imo.

Meagan Walker is startin to come into her own. Her game has improved tremendously, nice size 6'1 can shoot the 3ball and rebound.

That stock is goin up, sky's the limit

Middle first rounder next year could play herself into the lottery but her position in the draft dictates what Carter & Satou do this year. If they enter early Megan has a better chance next season as a lottery pick.

OSU freshman Kierstan Bell has looked a little overwhelmed in the games I've seen her in, but she seems to be settling in today. 3-time Miss Ohio Basketball.

Uconn fans are going to have a 'fun' year. At least they will be needed more to help their team.

UConn lucky they’re not down at the half.

Does espn have some area blocking? All game links you post here are dead for me, they just lead to main site.
I don't see any streams searching the site either and the game is on now.

Any solutions?

Competitive first half. Player talent and O/D execution all look about equal for both teams so far.

For UConn, only Williams and Dangerfield seem to combine both handle and shooting touch.

It's on ESPN - the cackle channel

The stream is on the BTN which is a premium.

Well the sky fell today. Walker is choking today. First national game? Hearing that W scouts will be watching? Whatever the reason she has Roberto Duran hands today. "Manos de Piedra"

The second half has become "create your own offense" for the Huskies.

They aren't ready for prime-time yet.

No, I supplied the right stream. It’s an ESPN subscriber stream. I doubt somebody in Poland subscribes to ESPN through his cable company. If he does, it should work. Have to log in through your cable provider.

In Poland, I think you have to look for the more dubious streams.

UConn probably played as well as they could with the talent they have. Dangerfield was clutch and came up big.

It may be too early, but after five games I've seen no evidence of shooting touch from any distance by either Makurat or Griffin.

I thought so. ESPN is not available on my cable TV, so I guess it's just YouTube replays the day after for me Sad
Thanks.

Statwise good to see a win without offensively productive ONO. Dangerfield stepped up in 2nd half to pull away. Ania is still a non-factor though but let's say until January she's just adjusting to new way of bball, but such shooting drought is surely something new.

73-62 UConn final

UConn dodges yet another bullet. They needed to play 3 starters 40 min and another one 38 min in order to do it.

Dangerfield 23 pts, 6 reb, 6 ast, 3 TO, 2 stl (one important one at the end), 40 min
Williams 20 pts, 8 reb, 4 ast, 2 TO, 40 min
Walker 19 pts, 8 reb, 4 ast, 3 TO, 1 stl, 40 min
Nelson-Ododa 6 pts, 12 reb, 3 ast, 3 TO, 4 blk, 2 stl, 38 min

The other starter, Makurat, was benched during the second half. 13 min in the first half.

UConn has plenty of talent. The problem is that they are still learning Geno's style of play. This is what a lot of fans of other teams see a lot more often, a lack of execution. But come March today's win will be just as valuable as a 40 point blowout.

I really like what I saw from Bell today. She’s very talented and played under control. She made some really amazing passes. She shot the ball well. I swear at least 3 of her misses from 3 looked like they were going in. She’s definitely one of the best freshmen this year IMO.
