I hope Augustus doesn't plan to be on the Olympic team. It would be a waste of a roster spot. You add in Delle Donne, Charles, Stewart, Wilson, Griner, etc. and it's a different team. Does look post heavy, maybe Charles sits out and they keep Plum, Collier or Ogunbowale?

| It's probably a good reminder that they can't just throw any old team together and expect them to easily beat all comers.

I think they've probably got too many easy excuses for anyone to take it seriously as a warning. 4th game in 8 days, lots of players who are still playing their way into shape, several players missing from the full first-choice roster, limited preparation time, head coach not even there - there are too many ways to let themselves off. |

| Hey Richyyy, were you happy with what you saw of Winterburn? I was surprised that she, Giomi, and Chavez were out there for crucial minutes instead of Boley, Hebard, and Moore.

the point is why would you put together a team where half the players are old and/or "playing their way into shape". Having one or two of those is ok, but having half the team that way is ridiculous.

team usa read our posts here. the weren't even trying to show that at least they attempted to play. they put in more effort against their own male practice squads than this. this whole thing against college teams is a joke other than for publicity.
and yes, bird, taurasi, and augustus should give the spots to others.
after michael jordan appeared in the first dream, when usa basketball begged him to be in the next dream team. he firmly said "no, let someone else has a chance to play". this is what legend is. bird, taurasi, and augustus surely lack that.

I thought it was fantastic to see Graves trust her to play crunch time in literally her first game in America, against the damn national team (and often guarding Diana Taurasi, for crying out loud). She didn't do a lot, but she looked reasonably comfortable and confident out there.
My only real fear with her going to such a strong and highly-ranked school was that she could end up glued to the bench and barely playing for four years, so it's good to see her get a chance right at the start. I'd love to see her actually be part of the genuine rotation, not just sopping up minutes in the many inevitable blowouts that Oregon will have. |

True....one is Jamaican, one German, right? I'd think, though, that if offered the chance to play for USA, they'd prefer their medal odds with that option as compared to their native countries. However, it isn't always about *the medals*....
ps....anybody have a box score handy? I couldn't find one anywhere last night.

The box score is on the USAB site as a PDF. Your "ain't got it no mo'" trio had 33 points on 11-21 shooting, with 17 assists and 3 turnovers. |

Jonquel Jones was originally Bahamian, but was naturalised by Bosnia and Herzegovina a while back. Not sure she's actually played a game for them yet, but she's at least theoretically Bosnian. Sabally has played for Germany in 3x3 and at age-group levels. Not sure if she's played for the senior 5-on-5 team yet, but she's German.

| She's reportedly about to leave Oregon for a little while to play for Germany in their upcoming qualifiers though, so she clearly intends to be German for basketball purposes. Could be good for her WNBA future though, as historically players with US ties are much more likely to show up consistently. |
