California looks to have a rocky season, and it is starting out that way. Their first exhibition, against Beijing Normal, had to be moved to Maples Pavilion due to an anticipated power outage on the Cal campus.
So how different is this team from last season. 7 players played at least 10 minutes in the first half, and only 1 (Jaelyn Brown) played any significant time last season. Leading scorers Evelien Lutje Schipholdt and Leilani McIntosh are both freshmen as are Cailyn Crocker and Jazlen Green.
Cal led 45-37 at the kalf.

Tenn 70, Carson-Newman 44. Tenn's play was hindered by KJH trying a boatload of different lineups, but overall Tenn was poor-fair on defense and truly abysmal on offense. Burrell and Brown were the only two who played with both energy and a clue. It's likely to be a very long season.

Washington State barely eked out a win against Beijing 71-63. It seems like the Cougars got lucky that Beijing was ICE cold from downtown after being scorching against Stanford and Cal. It could've been a very different game.

South Carolina defeats DII North Georgia 112-48 in their lone exhibition game. They open their season with a home game versus Alabama State next Tuesday - this will be the 3rd straight season the Gamecocks have played the Lady Hornets, and they won the previous two by an average score of 96.5-34.5, so my first sentence above may require some qualification.
The Gamecocks had 8 players in dbl digits, with freshman G Zia Cooke leading the way with 18 pts, Jr. G Lele Grissett with 16 pts, freshman F Laeticia Amihere with 13 pts, Sophomore F Victaria Saxton with 12, freshmen C Aliyah Boston, W Brea Beal, and senior F Herbert-Harrigan with 11 pts each, and senior PG Ty Harris adding 10 pts...

Seems like this might be Staley's most talented team offensively. I'm really looking forward to the MD/SC game.

Stanford goes down to Team USA, 95-80. Anybody here at the game? How'd it play out?

I was there. It was a fun time. Stanford was unexpectedly competitive, playing hard with no fear. They led by 5 after the first quarter and got as close as 4 at one point in the fourth. They're super deep this year with all four freshmen ready to contribute. The fans enjoyed cheering both for Nneka and for Stanford.
Of course it was great to see the USA team in person too!

Good to hear they were competitive....I figured either the college kids might get pounded, or the pros might just take it easy on them. How many college teams can compete with the likes of Nneka or Sylvia down low?

Yeah, they couldn't compete so well down low. Nneka was the leading scorer and Syl was blocking shots with authority.
