I want the Sparks to get done with this season in hurry so Nneka and Chiney can wrap up the new CBA.

An extra day of rest...I think the Sparks win game 3 and will carry the momentum over and win game 4...Game 5 will be a toss up.

This game is in Long Beach, not Pasadena— although not Staples it is a very nice smaller venue. I think we will have a good crowd!

The Sparks shouldn’t be forced out of Staples Center for the WNBA playoffs
https://www.latimes.com/sports/story/2019-09-21/arash-markazi-column
Take Sunday’s elimination game against the Connecticut Sun for example.
Quote: |
Prior to the season, Staples Center gave the team and league a set of dates that were not available because of events already booked. Sunday’s Emmy Awards are being held across the street at Microsoft Theater but Staples Center is being used for the event as well. This has been on the venue’s calendar for over a year and the league has known about it for as long.
Staples Center, however, is available to host the Sparks’ home playoff game one day later on Monday.
ESPN, which is the broadcast home of the WNBA playoffs, is scheduled to air the game Sunday on ESPN2 but often has to adjust to schedule changes for a variety of reasons. While “Monday Night Football” will be airing on ESPN, replayed programming that could easily be preempted is currently scheduled to air on ESPN2, ESPNews and ESPNU, not to mention ESPN+, their popular streaming service which aired all the FIBA World Cup games. |

Well, at least the Lisa Leslie court is transportable and can be set up at the alternative venue. The Purple & Gold with their backs against the proverbial wall. They have worked their way out of such situations successfully before: they can do it again. Time for EVERYBODY to don their superheroine capes and charge out with street fighting intensity. DO or DIE time, Ladies!!!

But then if the series goes a game 4, it forces a back-to-back.

And ESPN probably prefers counter-programming to the NFL. Presumably sports fans who don't like football that much -- or their team has already played -- are more likely to watch on Sunday than Monday.

Sad crowd, might as well be empty. Compared to the Aces crowd they sound pathetic.

Sparks' fans didn't want to travel to Long Beach on a football Sunday. Shame this had to be played in Long Beach today.

And yet there are complaints about one and done games. This is the team that led the WNBA in attendance this season and had the 3rd best record.......

Why would football matter? The Rams are in Cleveland and the Chargers draw fewer fans than the Sparks.

It’s too bad for sure, it makes for a lack luster game without a loud crowd.

Lobo raving about Morgan Tuck like she's their 6th woman. Tuck has been terrible in all four of her seasons in the league.
