What in the world makes you think she's worth that much?

For all the reasons UCbart named . I dont see any player in this Draft outside of Ionescu or Carter matching Jeffersons talent down the road. OR the talent she can possess when healthy .

Another person scheming to get players (s)he likes on favorite team for nothing.

I know the obvious answer is most teams are stupid, but if Jefferson is so bad or expendable, why did the Wings trade for her in the first place?

I would like Jefferson in NY if we mis out on Ionescu (or early entry Carter at 2 or 3) the problem is we don't have the right pieces for a trade. If I am NY I wouldn't give up a lottery pick for Jefferson even #3 Mompremier and Charles both have a lot of potential and could fill a hole at sf or in the post, or we could even reach for Dangerfield who has a similar profile as Jefferson, I prefer Jefferson but her injury history would make Dangerfield or other lottery options a safer bet.

If I am Dallas I wouldn't take Hartkey and 13 or Boyd and 13, which seems Luke the likely offer from ny. Dallas doesn't need either player and already has a lottery pick, pick 9 from Lv and their own second round pick at 15 so while I think 13 could move the needle for some teams Dallas is not one of them.

I guess there is a question of how much Jefferson wants to be in Dallas as it was expected she wiould be ready midway through the season but was suspended for the whole season right after the trade and meeting with team management.

I also doubt Dallas could be swayed by Stokes and 13 so while I would like Jefferson I don't see it as an option for NY

It's hard to speculate about trades when we still don't know who is making the decisions. If it's the same people who made them this year, then it's useful to remember that NY signed a 6-0 PG in Cloud. I believe her size was part of the appeal because it helps to offset Nurse and Durr being smallish. And if Smith returns, note that Nurse got increasingly benched in favor of the bigger Rebecca Allen. I doubt the Liberty will go smaller on the perimeter unless there's a very compelling reason -- or a change in coach/management.

Michelle knows her stuff, but Tami Fagbenle and Brook Dietrich are just two Ivy Leaguers that come to mind ...

Not really. I remember she figured PG was the biggest glaring need for the Lynx in 2019, based on Whalen retiring. Apparently she forgot DRob was on the team. Either that or she doesn’t have much respect for DRob.

Explain this to me. She has two early declarers on the list in McDonald and Slocum (some even want to consider Cooper an early declarer). She doesn’t note that they would have to declare early. Plus the most prominent early declarer in Carter isn’t included. So she’s not on top of that kind of stuff.

The prospects are listed in alphabetical order. I’m guessing she doesn’t want to venture a ranking? This article is more for the casual fan.

Yeah, very odd she includes Slocum and McDonald but not Carter or Sabally.

Charles reminds me a lot of a slightly taller version of J. Young...for better or worse.

Official SpaceJunkie Lottery Predictions:

1. Indiana - "The Curse" is broken for Indiana as shown by McCowan going for 22 & 19 in win at Seattle! Plus they should be rewarded for beating New York at the end of the season.
2. Dallas - Becuase Cox belongs with the Big D.
3. New York - They already moved up 2 spots last year to get the #2 pick in a draft with multiple stars and New York isn't allowed to get the #1 pick unless their pick is owned by another team.
4. Atlanta

I'd rather have Carter than yet another undersized post. That counts on 2 players to declare early, so may not happen. In that case, maybe they go for Dangermouse. I haven't paid much attention to most of these players so I will have some games to watch in the months ahead.

I could really see the Dream trading the pick. They do that a lot.

Mompremier is at least 3" taller than EWill so not sure what you mean by undersized. She's listed at 6'4 but I would bet she's taller and EWill is more like 6'2"

If Sabally comes out, she should be #2.

Because Dallas has the #2 Pick, she won't be. If Sabally comes out... she'd be an interesting (a good interesting) fit next to McCowan at Indiana.
