Not surprised.

I was hoping that Taurasi’s play had more to do with her not having her basketball legs, but she was playing how she plays when she’s playing through pain..pass first and lack of aggression.

I doubt the Mercury win without her (wish they weren’t playing the Sky though..).

1. If anyone can do it, she can
2. Do tech fouls in the last game of the season carry over to the following season for the purposes of reaching the Taurasi Suspension Threshold? Or is the last game a free hit?

It's a separate list for the playoffs. Everyone starts on zero as of tomorrow night.

I wasn't clear, although I wasn't entirely serious either. By "last game of the season" in this case I meant the playoff game in which a team gets eliminated. If DT has free reign to tech away from the sidelines then it might be some token drama value for Merc fans while we're getting spanked on the court.
On the other hand if the injury is minor and there's a chance she might get healthy later if by some miracle the team can progress a couple of games then she might be on her best behaviour and actually might not even travel.

Is this the year that father time has finally caught up to DT and Bird? It will eventually happen. As we age it takes longer to recover from injuries that become more numerous. Sometimes the recovery leaves us less than we were before. I know both of them have a bit of wiggle room when it comes to playing less than optimum and still be effective, but for how much longer?

I guess my girl, Diamond, gets more opportunities to strut her stuff before the entire league. Wink

I really don’t think a Hamstring issue is going to take DT out.

I think it’s likely both feel the it’s more important to be ready for the US tour they created.

Not that they both aren’t injured, but my guess is DT wants to be fully healed - not recovering from an injury that she hurt more while playing poorly in a playoff loss.

Also..if we’re down by 20 with five minutes left, I’m cool with DT telling the refs how she feels. Twisted Evil

I had Chicago beating Phoenix with a less than 100% Taurasi. Now I'm not as confident. Chicago should be the favorite, but there are too many unknown variables to make a prediction.

1. Will Phoenix go big or small?...If Phoenix goes big will Brondello start Turner or Sancho?... If Phoenix goes small will they start January/Carson or Turner/Carson at sg/sf?...Who's going to start at SG? January or Turner?

2. Who's going to be the primary defender on Sloot?...Mitchell or January/Turner?.... If it's Mitchell, Sloot will have a great game. If it's January/Turner, Sloot could struggle?

3. How will the absence of Taurasi affect Quigley on offense?...Will AQ struggle to get open looks against January/Turner?

4. Chicago has the better bench, but the Mercury's bench has more playoff experience (Lyttle, Little, Carson, January, Y.Turner)

5. The officiating...How much contact are they going to allow?... Are they going to call a tight game or let the players play.

6. The potential Bonner/DeShields matchup...Will Diamond have first time jitters?....Will Bonner shoot 5-17? or 10-17?...Same goes for Diamond. Can both players stay out of foul trouble?

7. BG is avg 30p/8r in her last 2 gms versus Chicago. How dominant will BG be?

8. How many open 3-pt shots will the Mercury get?...What percentage will they make?

9. Can Dolson stay out of foul trouble?

10. Which Role player(s) is going to be the difference-maker? (Parker, Gabby, Copper, KLS, Y. Turner, Little, Sancho, January)

I just hope Chicago wins.

I was pissed for days that I have a grad class tonight. However, maybe it’s better that I record the game, come home, and then watch to see if I even need to dedicate myself to getting invested.

One of the reason's Wade deserves COY on display. I love the movement in their offense.

Would Penny want to play?

Poor Brit. Hope she’s okay.

We’re gonna need to put Bonner or FLB (or both) in soon..
