Knowing what we now know about the rookies' first year performances, how would you change any of the teams' draft choices, or the entire first round if you're so inclined.

LVA or NY should have taken the "Big Galoot" instead of listening to you. Razz

LV Collier prefect fit at the 3 between the guards and the bigs
NY McCowan it turns out NY really needed a center
Ind Brown Indy still would need a big
Chi Ogunbowale nit sure if this works? but best available probably 6 woman candidate off the bench
Dallas J. Young a little PG a little SF
Minn Cuningham good fit at the 3 might have started
LA Durr bench scoring and R. Williams replacement when she was out
PX Turner could have had her and Gulich better post rotation and could probably still get Smith at 13
Was Gustafson 4th/5th post time to develop in good system
Conn KLS shooter could play some 2-4
Atl Anigwe bench support at the 4 and 5
12 Sea Shepard bench support at the 4 and 5

This is based on talent and team need in 19

for instance I don't think Cuningham is better than Durr but Minny needed someone to play SF and LA needed another guard

Hard to say with the whole Cambage situation. Bill probably would have drafted McCowan if there were no talks to get Cambage in a trade. McCowan is a Laimbeer-type of player. With still getting Cambage, I think he takes Collier. Ogunbowale goes #2, McCowan still goes #3, Durr goes #4.

1. Las Vegas - Collier
2. New York - Ogunbowale
3. Indiana - McCowan
4. Chicago - Durr
5. Dallas - Jackie Young
6. Minnesota - Shepard
7. Los Angeles - Samuelson
8. Phoenix - B. Turner
9. Connecticut - Brown
10. Washington - Cazorla
11. Atlanta - S. Cunningham
12. Seattle - N. Hiedeman
13. Phoenix - K. Burke
14. New York - Anigwe
15. Chicago - Alanna Smith
16. Minnesota - Mabrey
17. Dallas - Gustafson
18. Minnesota - Han Xu

McCowan , plus whatever trade
I had Brown going #2 but Indy making a deal for her. Diminishing returns on having Cox+Brown yanking stats from each other, so surprise here's Brown #4 in block %.
Collier to the Libs via whatever deal Indy does, maybe a little longer to discover she can kill it at the 3 instead / not just at the 4.
Arike both back up PG and earning microwave minutes.
Jackie Young dealt to Vegas of course.
Shepard to the Lynx, yep. Hope she heals up.
Durr to LA = they are all happy.
Phoenix nope coach'll take Alanna Smith anyway. Need a little patience yeah yeah.
Sun take KLS after the call from the Governor to keep a riot from happening.

crapshoot here out
Can't imagine everyone would wiff on Burke for the 4th time.

The point is that she wouldn't have still been available at #5.

Plum, McBride, Collier, Wilson and Cambage. That is a solid line-up Shocked

and Colson,Sugar, T.Young, and Hamby off the bench isn't too shabby for a second team either.

Anyway, no use in doing the woulda coulda stuff. I still think J. Young's best use would be as a three. And she needs to work on her shooting. For being thrown into a totally new situation/position she did ok for a rookie, just not spectacular. Had a nice A/TO ratio anyway so she's careful, but maybe too careful - it seems like the ball just gets stuck in her hands. She looked kinda like a slightly better version of Kaela Davis as a PG, which we all know was catastrophe, but Young has a much better supporting cast.
