Foster Statement on Supporting Impeachment Inquiry
https://foster.house.gov/media/press-releases/foster-statement-on-supporting-impeachment-inquiry
Quote: |
“I take no pleasure in announcing my support for the House to begin an impeachment inquiry into the President of the United States.
“I have wrestled with this decision over the past several months as I’ve listened to my constituents and reviewed the evidence presented by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, including his direct testimony to Congress.
“On the Financial Services Committee, on which I serve, I have seen President Trump attempt to block legitimate Congressional investigations into the role of foreign money in transactions by the Trump Organization, Deutsche Bank, and others.
“I have watched with horror as President Trump has perpetrated an assault on American values. In word and deed, President Trump has demonstrated an utter disregard for the rule of law and the fundamental principles that make up the foundation of our democracy.
“The Mueller report details several occasions – at least ten – where President Trump took actions to obstruct the Special Counsel’s investigation into Russian interference in our 2016 elections.
“Our Constitution vests Congress with the unique obligation to perform oversight of the federal government, including of the President and his administration. Under our system of checks and balances, no person – not even the President – should be above the law or immune from facing the consequences of their actions.” |

Wow. Alabama must have gotten utterly destroyed by Dorian.
Maybe CNN can borrow a sharpie.

I miss the days when Democrats cared about American workers. Shame on Trump for insubstantially trying to reverse the American job export that took place under both parties as they brayed about "job creation".

The fact that you asked after the past three years is troublesome. And posting videos of Rhinestone and Polyester and their dollar tree wigs is the "I have a Black friend" argument.
I wish those two would stick their heads in a gas oven.

Now, now! You musn't wish harm to anyone whilst posting at Rebs. Unless, of course, you just meant they should dry their wigs with that method. |
As far as I'm concerned I wouldn't moderate a comment like that, as it doesn't advocate violence against them, just that they participate in self-harm. Now if they were members, and it was a direct attack that would be different.
But be aware, the flip goes as well. I would not be inclined to moderate if someone suggested that someone I, or you, admire did the same.
Personally, outside of my role as mod, I'd wish we would all tone down this sort of rhetoric, as it just makes for a better community the less we allude to such things. And I say this as someone guilty of over-the-top rhetoric myself when it's something I care a great deal about.

Couldn't you give some examples of what you have seen demonstrating the majority of Trump supporters hate black people?
Diamond and Silk go around the country and get paid by Trump supporters for speaking to them in a hotel ballroom. Seems more like a "there is an example of Trump supporters who don't hate black people" argument. At least I find it very unlikely that they would hate black people and then pay to hear two of them speak.

Federal judge halts California law forcing Trump to release tax returns to qualify for ballot
Quote: |
(CNN)A federal judge has ordered a temporary injunction against the California law requiring presidential candidates to release their tax returns to secure a spot on the state's presidential primary ballot -- a law aimed at President Donald Trump, who has not released his tax returns.
In a ruling Thursday, US District Court Judge Morrison England, Jr., said that California cannot force candidates to disclose their tax returns as outlined in a new state law. England said he would make his final ruling on the law before October 1.
Even as the temporary injunction will likely face appeals from state officials, the decision marks a clear victory for Trump who sued California last month to challenge the state law. The Trump administration has resisted various large-scale efforts to obtain the President's tax returns, a battle that has largely played out in courts.
Trump has claimed that ongoing IRS audits have stopped him from making his tax returns public, even though audits don't prevent individuals from releasing tax returns.
While the law in question covers all presidential candidates, those in court Thursday acknowledged it was all aimed at one person. |
