Another thriller, but the United States returns to the top at this age group with a 74-70 win over Australia:

Spain beat Belgium 58-52 for the bronze medal:

Li Yuan had a good performance for draft evaluators as China beat Canada 72-64 for 5th place:

Mali finished a great tournament for them with a 65-62 win over Japan for 7th place:

South Korea beat Hungary 73-66 for 9th place in a somewhat mixed tournament for Park Ji-Hyun ahead of her draft opportunity:

Colombia beat Argentina 58-51 for 11th place:

We basically had the win in the bag in regulation time and screwed up horribly to throw it away

Were D'Angelo and Simons injured by the end of the tournament?

Curious about D'Angelo in particular as I'm hoping for a Nunawading win this weekend.

The Anstey (sp?) inadvertent elbow to the chops prevented a regulation win.

Walz (i assume) called a great inbounds play for the tie- a Bueckers to Van Lith "alley oop" from the near sideline 10 ft from midcourt to the opposite block. VL bolted from the block to the elbow as if to get a direct pass, then backtracked to the block to receive a perfect lob, then faked her defender's fly-by defense, and scored in traffic.

VL also hit some big 3s down the stretch.

South American qualification for the next tournament was conducted this week. Colombia, Brazil, and Argentina will play in the Americas U18 tournament next year.
