Or the Coates vs. Gulich battle. Coates should be an improvement over Gulich.

Coates is a nice pickup, but I still believe Gulich has good upside. Playing limited minutes in Phoenix during her rookie season really hurt Gulich's development and confidence. Playing with an undisciplined Atlanta squad that has no interest in getting their post players quality touches hasn't helped. The Dream have too many low IQ chuckers on the team. EWill by far has the highest FG% among the starters but takes the least amount of shots.

Code:
Player   FGA      Minutes    FG%
Hayes:   12.2     28.6      40.1
Sykes:   10.8     26.9      37.9
Bentley: 10.4     21.7      25.6
Monty:    8.4     26.6      34.4
Breland:  7.8     22.6      36.2
Williams: 7.5     28.5      47.2

3 out of the 4 regular rotation post players are shooting less than 40% from the field. That's very concerning.

I think Coates and Gulich are better than what they have shown.

Cazorla off the bench before Bentley. But Montgomery has to make a few as well.

Cazorla has the best +/- so far but got yanked. When Bentley is on the floor with her, Bentley pigs the ball so she doesn't touch it on most possessions. It's kind of a waste of her PG skills.

Oh I'm all for Cazorla off the bench first, don't get me wrong. Just shocked me that it actually happened. With Bentley's shot not falling, she's pressing way too much. "Shooter's gonna shoot" yes, but when that shot ain't falling, the answer for yourself may be to shoot yourself back into it, but the answer for your team needs to be to find other ways to help (assist/defend)

Atlanta with a five-point lead, shooting 1-for-15 from three. That's a throwback #RWTD type of box score.

The O sisters and Gray were too much for the Dream.

Nice win! The last few years playing with Brian and his truncated game rosters taught my Ladies how to man up, er, woman up for needed wins. Hello to Tierra "I'm not just a defensive stopper!" Ruffin-Pratt and her offensive game from downtown.

With the all-star break upon us, it's time for Syd the Kid, Marina Mabrey, Karlie Samuelson and the rest of our Mad Bomber Squad to get into downtown rhythm as Candace and Alana are hopefully going to be back after the the break. With Ace, the Ogwumikes, and Big Bad Kalani stuffing the paint, we need potent firepower from beyond the arc to gain spacing down low.

Yes! TRP has been playing well for the Sparks all season. Both on offense and defense. Williams has always been a streak shooter and she has been hot, but who knows how long that would have lasted.

Hopefully, Maria will be able to join the party at some point this season.

Bentley played much better this game, at least in terms of shooting percentage and assists. Cazorla played nearly 10 minutes and her only box score contribution was a missed shot.

Yes! To me, her absence hurts the most. She actually plays defense. It also appears that Father Time has finally has gotten his hand on the back of Beards jersey. Her constant injuries are just one sign of that. The announcers in this last game mentioned that they were missing Beard, Parker, and Williams, but totally left out Vadeeva. Typical that the home announcers are not up on the opposing team, but leaving her out is a bit too much.
