You are assuming that when they post their decision on Twitter, they haven’t made any calls. My daughter announced her decision on Twitter, but the day before that, she made 12 phone calls to the coaches that she was turning down. Her AAU club director coaches all of the girls on how to do this, and ensures that they keep their club respectable in the eyes of the coaches.

In that case, I would say it would be the handful of respectable athletes in my eyes. Who can forget the Arike Ogunbawale (spelling) and Geno Auriemma fiasco when Geno was upset that he didn't even know his team was "eliminated"? It happens. I've personally seen some instances where players didn't even do as much as an e-mail.

It's difficult for teenagers to make those tough phone calls, and it's up to all the adults in the room to make sure they do.

As a parents both of my kids called each final 5 schools before they announced. As organizations we have all our kids called the others coaches and let them know before they announced it on social media.
As a staff we make it a point to make sure our organization hold prospects to high standards and help develop character with the girls.

That's great that both of you have put your children in great programs like that. But unfortunately that is not how a lot of kids are. I remember reading a story about a recruit (maybe last year) that made coaches watch her reveal video on instagram to see which school she was going to and she was open about wanting the coaches to watch the video to see who she picked. I don't know the actually numbers of how many do it one way compared to the other way, but I know it happens both ways. Hopefully more people will get into places of power that are like the people that are part of your programs to teach the young players the right way to do it and encourage doing communicating with all the schools, even if it's just to tell them you are no longer interested in going there. I know it's not an easy to do, but it will definitely be a good learning experience for them.

Mickie and Nell go way back. This could be a good thing for GT.

Is Cheryl Miller out at Cal State LA?if you look at the Cal State LA WBB coaching staff link, the asst. coach from last year is now listed as the head coach. I didn't see anything on Google, the team website, heck even WHoopdirt came up empty. Could this be a misprint or the quietest coaching exit ever? ClayK, you're Mr. West Coast, what's happening in the golden coast?
