Keturah Jackson will be replacing Jim Corrigan as Special Assistant.

Corrigan was elevated from Special Assistant to Assistant Coach, while former DWB player Wanisha Smith returned to Durham as assistant coach. Those changes came after AC Rene Haynes became the head women’s basketball coach at Long Island University and Associate HC Hernando Planells resigned.

Louisville hires Jonneisha Pineada as AC. She was at Ga Tech the last few years.

Interesting choice.

First, Louisville again hires an AC from another ACC school.

--- Former Louisville AC Samantha Williams (now EKU HC) also came to Louisville from an ACC school - Duke (though technically Louisville was not part of the ACC when Williams was hired).

--- And current Louisville Associate HC had been with another ACC school -- Georgia Tech -- for six years before moving to Louisville in 2013.

This is also interesting because Pineada was on MaChelle Joseph's staff and was let go along with the other assistant coaches -- Mark Simons (acting head coach) and Sasha Palmer -- after MaChelle Joseph was fired.

Sue just turned 65 last week which appears is around the time she let the A.D. know it was time. Good for her going out on her own and setting up Heather to take over. Heather was one of my favorite players during Sue’s years at U-M.

https://cmuchippewas.com/news/2019/7/12/womens-basketball-passing-the-torch.aspx?path=wbball

Guevara said her health is fine and played no role in her decision to retire now. The passion – "you give 100 percent, 100 percent of the time" she said in a familiar refrain – had waned, and she came to the realization that "it was simply time."

"If I'm going to ask our players to do that, I have to do it, and I didn't feel like I could give our players 100 percent," said Guevara, who, in two months since the Chippewas' season ended with a second-consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament, completed a "bucket-list" trip to Ireland, underwent shoulder surgery, and had some time to reflect.

"I had two months to set on the back porch and swing, read and get some sun and really think about … could I give everything I had to this team to pursue another championship?" she said.

A highly capable and well-prepared understudy waiting in the wings made the decision that much easier.

Oesterle carried the title of associate head coach over the past seven years and she wore many hats, including that of recruiting coordinator and scouting.

Holly Warlick currently serving as State Dept sports envoy to Taiwan. Regardless of any coaching difficulties, she is a notable ambassador for the game.

I think that Holly definitely proved that Tennessee is still a destination for recruits as the Lady Vols brand is still relevant. Her problem, IMO, was not adapting to today's student-athlete and using 1970's methods for today's students. Heck, as a HS coach, I noticed a big difference in a generation within a five year gap. Today's recruits are the type to post their own highlight videos, count their own points, post their college decisions on Twitter, etc. The days of humbleness and calling coaches directly and keeping them informed are long gone, whether we like it or not. Don't get me wrong, there are still some student-athletes who fit that mold, but they are far and few anymore.

You are assuming that when they post their decision on Twitter, they haven’t made any calls. My daughter announced her decision on Twitter, but the day before that, she made 12 phone calls to the coaches that she was turning down. Her AAU club director coaches all of the girls on how to do this, and ensures that they keep their club respectable in the eyes of the coaches.
