Seems the Mercury are in free fall. Guess they are just waiting for DT to come back. So my vote went to LA.

Both teams have been terrible, but I think Mercury get the win at home. Hopefully, Griner wakes up for them.

DT not warming up with team. Cunningham is back for what it is worth. Vonnie not here. BG usually plays well against LA but if we want to win, the perimeter players have to step up. If they don't play well BG will struggle.

Taurasi is listed as inactive on the boxscore.

I also picked LA, thinking that they'd have to respond to the previous game with more effort... but of course, that was the same reason I picked LA vs SEA after their previous blowout loss... Twisted Evil

LA is definitely playing better tonight, though, which is nice.. Come on Candace! I drafted you #1! Razz

LA should consider trading Brown or chiney in the right deal. They need another scoring/shooting wing. Brown has upside but she's not a game changer, and LA already have Vedeeva.

Chiney's not agreeing to any trades. No trade should occur until Vadeeva returns.

They can trade Brown now. It's not as if she's getting heavy rotation minutes or is a key factor. Parker/Nneka/Chiney can all play center.

Fisher's substitutions make no sense. How does Wiese, a starter when Beard & Parker were out, goes to sitting glued on the bench now?

Beard was on Carson when Carson made 8 straight points. She is not a good defender anymore. She was really beginning to decline last season and only won D player of the year on Reputation. She should have retired.

Exactly! She was not doing a lot of scoring but she had a really good +- stat though out her entire season. Why? Because she was a good defender. Pratt is also a really good defender who was on the bench until the last few seconds of this game. Why? She even has been doing well on the offensive end so it makes no sense to keep her off the floor. Either Wiese or Williams should have been on the floor for Williams who is not a good defender. Parker is a good defender when she gives effort, but in this game she also took plays off. This is not a well balanced roster for the Sparks this season. They will need to make some changes if they expect to win, but not with this roster.

Oh, okay....

Beard is coming back from injury. At least give her a few games before you throw her to the wolves.

People on this board expect perfection from all players and coaches. Anything less than perfection and that person should be banished to the dark side of the moon. Rolling Eyes

You quoted the wrong person. I thought it was a bit much to suggest that Beard was given a pity defensive player of the year award.

Now if someone wants to suggest Catchings was given a pity league MVP, I’m all ears.

Derek Fisher needs to get a grip ... what he's doing isn't working.

This is a very talented roster (with some issues, granted) that's going in the wrong direction.

Exactly. He seemed brilliant before Candace came back. Now his "it's ALL about Candace" way of coaching is dumb as a doornail. Nobody - not one player on the team including Candace - knows their role on the team. Candace is primary option every time down the floor. Chelsea Gray is floundering all of a sudden.

I have to say this is the stupidest coaching I've ever seen in the WNBA. How to destroy a team in one step.

i realize people have off games and that Beard is coming back from injury, however, i am putting her play so far in context with her defense last season as well. I noticed her defense was beginning to decline last season as well. You people need to understand that even though Beard has been ageless, you can not beat father time forever. The time was going to come when it was eventually going to catch up with her. Sometimes when it does come it hits quickly. Ruffin Pratt should get her minutes. She is a far better defender at this point in time.
