Head coach Brenda Frese announced four promotions and an addition to the Maryland women's basketball staff this week.

Wait, didn't they make the hire already and people got hired for the staff? What the heck happened here? |

Looks like something happened. I did a search for Heather Kearney and came up with a couple of empty links that had been posted to WCU's website related to her hiring. BOT didn't like something about her or the terms of the contract.

One interesting thing that I found was that she is represented by the BDS Agency. I know several major college coaches have an agent, but is it a common thing with mid-majors and smaller colleges? My guess is it had something to do with the negotiations. We all know how some agents can be with their demanding and threats. The WCU BOT probably said okay, go to one of those many other schools waiting to court you!

North Florida Athletic Director Lee Moon announced a four-year contract extension for UNF head women's basketball coach Darrick Gibbs that keeps him at the helm of the program through the 2023-24 season.
Gibbs is coming off a record setting season in 2018-19 which saw the Ospreys finish with a 15-14 overall record, the first winning record in the program's Division I era. UNF also advanced to the ASUN Championship Tournament semifinals for the second consecutive season.

North Florida has upped its points per game and win totals in each of Gibbs' years on the sideline. The Ospreys improved from just three wins in ASUN play to nine this season - the best total since 2011-12. The 2018-19 season saw UNF post its first positive scoring margin since joining the Division I ranks. |

Both Reiss and Zoll-Norman played collegiately at Virginia, although in different decades.

Wow - after a staff had been selected and everything - don't know if I've heard of anything like this happening.

I think that Josh McDaniel had hired some assistants for the Colts before he decided to be a dick and return to the Patriots. Oh well, considering the environment he was coming from, I guess I'm not really surprised.
It really sucks for them because they left jobs I'm assuming they liked to take this one and now may be left looking for another job ~two months before school starts.
